And then we get a clean-shaven Washington!

Anyway, I know that pre-1930s there was 4 months between when the President was elected and when he took office. Then because of the Great Depression they changed that to what it is currently. Why don't we change it again? Seriously, I would like to see it changed so that there's only a month. I know January 1st would have a better ring to it, but with the amount of technology available and the amount the new President has to get accomplished to get his Cabinet and staff together, the sooner the President is in office, the better.

Has anyone seen the supposed report around the internet about Israel planning to bomb Iran after the election and before the inauguration? I think i remember seeing it on some random site...

The last report I saw was that Israel asked Bush for permission some time ago and he said no. I think Bush would much rather do it himself and "control" things.

I remember reading that as well. I'm glad he said no. Hopefully the economic crisis will stay his hand and keep him busy long enough that he won't have a chance to control something like that. What I read was that Israel was thinking to bomb Iran between election day and inauguration since Bush didn't allow it (he'd only be an official lame duck at that point) and Obama won't have been sworn in.

Well according to the European leaders he already did ... though I guess that they think it was a combined effort. But nonetheless he was right in the middle of it. As for something else? ... well

Quote:
"It looks like I'm going to have a lot of work to do between today and when the new president takes office," Bush said this past week.

I think he's going to have his hands full with the economic crisis and transition to the new president that he won't have time to do much of anything else. I know he wanted to get the Palestinian State before he left office, but that stalled. Apparently he wants to try to negotiate some trade deals with Colombia and perhaps N. Korea. But nonetheless, even though his approval rating is atrocious right now, he has been in the spotlight with the latest hurricane season, offshore drilling and the economic crisis.

I must say that he looks old and decrepit. He looked so young 8 years ago and now looks like an old man.
