I do, and was curious to know if anyone else does.

I support public schools, public roads, social security, and public health care. So I guess so.

I'm more for Direct Democracy ("This is where everyone is given the opportunity to participate in making all policy decisions.").

I'm not a big fan of Representative Democracy that we have in the US.

Allow us to represent ourselves, please.

No way!

We are LAZY people. Apparently we no longer know what's best for us, and have to rely on other people (elected officials) to make our minds up for us, and make up the laws for us to follow. Let the people decide what's best for them, what policies to pass, cut out the middle (in it for himself, and not you) middle man.

On social issues, definitely. Fiscal/economic issues, much more to the center.

Really? You're against public schools, social security, unemployment benefits, public libraries, college grants, and veteran's benefits?

not really, but I am tolerant of most as long as they don't become damaging.

the system is currently set up so that a minority group is still represented. Strictly speaking, democracy is mob rule. If 51% of people want something that is wrong and marginalizes the other 49%, tough shit. We might as well submit to complete anarchy. It'll achieve the same damage with much greater efficiency.

More than that, the amount of policy decisions that are made every day (think in your city, county, and state on top of the national level) would literally halt progress for the typical American. They would have to spend hours doing the research required to make the "right" votes.

I think even the most conservative capitalist society can and should benefit to socializing certain things. I am a huge advocate of a comprehensive public education; give your citizens a good education and that'll take care of half of your job as a lawmaker and a law enforcer. I would lump libraries in with schools as well, since they tie into the same ideas of education and information. Roads are difficult to provide in the private industry on the massive (and uniform) scale needed.

Everything beyond that I have mixed feelings are I am against.

They'd have to spend hours now, yes, but not if they had to think and act for themselves like we should all been doing from day 1. If anything, it should be able to speed the process up. Instead of having a select few work on many issues (many of those issues being problems that haven't had any progress for decades), mainly due to the two party system that can't get over their disagreements, you would have many working on many issues together. I think many pass off the people as ignorant, who have no idea what's best for them, etc. The typical American should be deciding what's best for them directly, not through someone who thinks they know what is best for them. We let others solve our own problems too much.

Public Schools: I agree with them but it should be controlled by the states, not the federal government.
Social Security: Yes I'm against
Unemployment Benefits: I'm against
Public Libraries: Again, should be controlled by the states
Veteran's Benefits: I agree with.

Controlled by the states is still socialism. So "no, not at all" is really "yes, quite a bit."

Not true. My dad started out as an Assistant Manager and worked his way up and was unemployed for nearly a year while I was in high school.

clearly you have not been poor and been thrown out of a job you have been for 40 years.

Political ideological beliefs come mostly from experiences.

Imo if some staunch Conservatives lived a day in the life of a single poor woman, they may not become socialists but there views would change.

My father worked for a company for 27 years and was laid off. I know all about a company betraying you.

"Public" in the sense that my income taxes pay for highways, no. Pay for road infrastructure solely through fuel taxes, tolls, and private capital. I wonder how popular sprawl will be if developers have to pay for the freeways, avenues, streets, power lines, water mains, etc.
