Quick question for the two McCain supporters on the internet
Prices for EVERYTHING are up. Incomes are down. The war. Nothing else to say. Trillions of dollars, thousands of lives COMPLETELY thrown away. Our place in the world? Down the shitter, wiped using the valueless American dollar of course. The poor are fucked. The middle class is fucked. The upper middle class is fucked.
Even if you're not a huge Obama fan, the neocons have left us in an absolute mess. McCain means more of the same in power.
How can you look at where we are today and say to yourself "okay, going well, no need to change, let's just continue." ...?
I just don't see any sort of possible justification. Obama is "inexperienced" is a cop out. Might not be the best situation, but compared to the alternative (which has caused all of the things listed above over the past 8 years), it's less than insignificant.

A McCain campaign response: snack wrote: Prices for EVERYTHING are up. Incomes are down. That's the free market. It's not always a bed of roses. Suck it up. Quote: The war. Nothing else to say. What matters is what hard working Americans with a bible in one hand and a gun in the other think. Quote: The poor are fucked. The middle class is fucked. The upper middle class is fucked. The rich create jobs. The poor, middle and upper middle are only suffering because of the regulations and restrictions on the rich and corporations. Loaded question much?
How do you expect a serious debate with anyone who is a McCain supporter (of whom there are at least 4, according to the poll on this website) when you present assumptions that are either completely wrong or are so skewed, any opposition seems stupid.

I can't tell if you're serious or not.
Assuming you are, please present a meaningful support for the following statement: "Prices for EVERYTHING are up. Incomes are down. "

Re: Quick question for the two McCain supporters on the internet
Interesting that income was mentioned today of all days: Quote: Real median household income in the United States climbed 1.3 percent between 2006 and 2007, reaching $50,233, according to a report released today by the U.S. Census Bureau. This is the third annual increase in real median household income.
Meanwhile, the nation’s official poverty rate in 2007 was 12.5 percent, not statistically different from 2006. There were 37.3 million people in poverty in 2007, up from 36.5 million in 2006. The number of people without health insurance coverage declined from 47 million (15.8 percent) in 2006 to 45.7 million (15.3 percent) in 2007. http://www.census.gov/Press-Release/www/releases/archives/income_wealth/012528.htmlThe report is from 8/26/08.

Oops...missed the "real," but regardless, Americans' incomes go far less than they did before Bush took office. The growth achieved prior to Bush's years compared to the stagnation ever since is an undeniable problem.

Any growth now is small, and whether or not there is growth is inconsistent.

Compare this to ""Prices for EVERYTHING are up. Incomes are down. " Not quite the same effect. Although again, I must ask, where do you get your information from. I want to be educated, damn it!

The neocons had help in all this lest we forget. The democratic controlled congress of 2006+ has done diddly to stop the war, stop the funding, stop the fisa bill or reverse the patriot act. They haven't pressured the Fed into raising interest rates while they were lowering it all this past summer further sinking my US dollar. They have stonewalled any attempt to impeach Bush or Cheney as well as making measly efforts at having subpoenas enforced when individuals just ignore them. Lastly, the democrats have continued to play this joke of a game that everything is Bush's fault/neocons fault when they had a hand in ALL of it the past 2 years. Now as to why people would still support McCain. Maybe there are those out there who are disgusted by the choice of Biden as VP or the diminishing believability that Obama really intends to end anything in Iraq as well as the prospect of the possibly easy passage of Carbon credit taxation, nationalized healthcare and continued usage of the new "anti-terror" tools that Bush has been able to take advantage of. Those would be my reasons to not vote for Obama, however, I live in a red state so it makes no difference here.

You also supported Ron Paul during the primary season... As to the dollar: Quote: NEW YORK (AP) -- The dollar hit a six-month high against the euro and surged to a 25-month high against the pound on Tuesday as two U.S. economic reports were better than expected, while business and consumer sentiment plunged in Germany.
The 15-nation currency fell as low as $1.4569 - its lowest level since Feb. 14 - before recovering to $1.4650 in late New York trading. On Monday, the euro was worth $1.4756.
The British pound, meanwhile, fell to its lowest point since July 2006 at $1.8329 before recovering to $1.8389. The pound fetched $1.8525 late Monday. http://money.cnn.com/2008/08/26/markets/dollar.ap/?postversion=2008082617

I must remind you the number of McCain supporters are small.
However some people who like Obama still respect and like McCain. I am on the fence.

Re: Quick question for the two McCain supporters on the internet
Why would I vote for McCain?
I'm in the commodities trading industry, which is doing gangbusters business these days. Markets are more profitable without anti-speculation regulations. McCain supports expanded drilling rights and lax environmental oversight, directly benefiting a number of clients. I own an investment that's up 220%, subject to capital gains tax. I support the death penalty. I support Second Amendment rights. I support free trade. I supported George Bush in both elections.
Not that I intend to vote for a pigheaded moron with no honor or family values... you can't ask a loaded question and expect a straight answer.

Re: Quick question for the two McCain supporters on the internet
Imo one thing that really makes me mad about Obama is that he said he will stop our dependence on foreign oil yet he won't drill for more domestic oil.
I cannot believe Obama's supporters don't see this.
However, I think Obama will likely only 10% of what he says he will do, but it will accomplish more then an entire Century of Republican rule would do.

I cannot believe Obama's supporters don't see this. He's talking about natural gas, nuclear, and other forms of alternative energy.
