This is old news.

The 57 state thing is obviously a misspeak, and if you watch it, he says "50..." and then pauses as he thinks and then continues... "7..." He obviously meant 40, because the rest of statement is about having visited all the continental states except one. I'm sure if someone followed you around and recorded everything you said in public for a year, you might have a misspeak or two as well. To somehow imply that a guy who graduated cum laude from Harvard doesn't know something any 5th grader knows is ridiculous. Man, the Obama critics realy have to stretch to find anything, don't they?

Who is criticizing McCain for misspeaking?

McCain suggested his wife enter a topless beauty pagent. That's not misspeaking.

Neither is this one:



McCain accused Obama of not visiting the troops, when Obama did. He then said that Obama cancelled another visit to the troops because they wouldn't allow cameras. That's not a flub. It's called a LIE.



This is the only one that could be sort of be called a flub. Except that McCain on multiple occassions repeatedly referred to a country that hasn't existed in years as if it still did. Once is a flub. Multiple times is something else.

Misspeaking is when McCain referred to "President Putin of Germany." That's a perfectly human mistake. It's obvious, in context, what he was referring to, just as in Obama's "57 states" flub.

Not knowing the difference between Viagra and birth control, or how many houses one owns, is not "misspeaking".
