 Predict Obama's VP choice
Supposedly he will choose this week, according to reports from the NYT and elsewhere.

My head goes with Biden, but something tells me he's gonna pull Hillary out of left field so that's who I picked.

 Re: Predict Obama's VP choice
It probably won't be Hillary. She's been given alot of time at the convention, with her speech on day 2. And then there's the nomination process which she will be included in, and some Delegates (like Ed Rendell, who said: "It honors the hard work of so many people who supported Sen. Clinton," he told PolitickerPA. "Many of the Pennsylvania delegates worked their heart out for Sen. Clinton, and they're excited to cast a vote for her. From my vantage point, that will be closure for them.") that will still be voting for her. Though many delegates want Obama to pick Clinton. Quote: (CBS) Senator Hillary Clinton is by far the favorite choice for the number two spot on the Democratic ticket, according to a CBS News/New York Times poll of delegates to the Democratic convention. When asked who they would like Barack Obama to select, 28 percent volunteer her as their top choice for Vice Presidential nominee.
Six percent volunteer Delaware Senator Joe Biden, and four percent mention two other unsuccessful Democratic candidates: New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson and former North Carolina Senator John Edwards. [Most of the interviews for this poll were conducted before Edwards admitted to having an extramarital affair.] Another 4 percent volunteer Indiana Senator Evan Bayh.
CBS News and The New York Times interviewed a random sample of 972 delegates to the convention, including both pledged delegates (who were committed to support a candidate when they were selected to attend the convention), and superdelegates, the party leaders and elected officials who can support any candidate they choose at any time.
Most delegates (61 percent) think Clinton’s selection would help Obama’s chances of winning the general election in November. Nearly all of those originally pledged to Clinton say this. Far fewer of Obama’s pledged delegates see the benefit from naming her. Thirty-five percent of Obama’s pledged delegates think having Clinton’s name on the ticket would help Obama win in November, 23 percent of them say choosing her would hurt. But I still see Obama going with someone pretty low-profile.

 Re: Predict Obama's VP choice
The word is that Obama himself wants to be able to pick Hillary and chances are she would have gotten if she hadnt done such a smear campaign against him.
Hillary ruled herself out in March as soon she started saying how bad of President Obama would be. The republicans would go crazy witht he clips where she says McCain is more ready to lead, ect. than Obama. After stuff like that, there was no way she could get it. Just no way. Had she not said that kind of stuff, she woudl probably have gotten the vp slot; hell she mighta even managed to win the nomination.

She would be a bad pick for these reasons at the very least.

 Re: Predict Obama's VP choice
I can't envision a boring guy like Bayh. He doesn't look able to meet Obama's demand for an intellectually independent and vigorous VP.

I think it will be Biden myself. I think he needs somebody with an experience edge.

Stephen Douglas was more qualified than Abraham Lincoln and i see Douglas really won that election.

Too bad she couldn't be President... I would LOVE the "dream" ticket to happen but I fear what the results of it would be... I think she doesn't work as a inferior figure...she will probably dominate (or at least try to) Obama and I'm sure he knows that.... oh well.... I just hope it isn't Bill Richardson...

Gore would be excellent if he didn't supposedly retire from politics. His public image has changed a lot in the last eight years.

Yeah, but now he's the elder stateman with lots of respect; if he were to run again, all the attacks would come out and he'd be tarnished once again. Plus why would he reduce himself to being VP again when he actually kind of won the Presidency in 2000?

I just threw it out there because I read somewhere that Gore is scheduled to talk in Denver next week - directly before Obama speaks to his supporters
