I was thinking about this the other day after listening to Abraham, Martin & John on the radio. The best thing Bush could hope for to save his legacy would be to be assassinated. While JFK's presidency was not as horrible as Bush's, it wasn't too far off. Lots of screw ups, nepotism, etc. JFK was not the type of idiot Bush is, and he really did seem to care about the country and had lots of social programs and such, but the only reason he's revered the way he is is because he was killed. I wonder what his legacy would have been if he hadn't been, and then been reelected. He would probably have been blamed for Vietnam and hated the way Johnson was. At best he probably would've been remembered as average. So I think that if Bush managed to get himself assassinated in the next eight months, he'll finally be right about history remembering him as great. Which is why I hope that no one decides to kill him. That would be horrible. |

I certainly do not wish for him to be assassinated. And it wouldn't help him anyway. JFK was killed 3 years into his first term, long enough to accomplish some things but not long enough to screw up substantially. Bush's presidency, by contrast, is basically over. Unless he attacks Iran, there's nothing else really for him to do except just ride it out. It might keep the historians from pronouncing him the worst president of all time for the time being, but that label would eventually get applied to him anyway. |

All good looking people have it easy, regardless of whether they are president or not. I for the record do not want Bush to be assassinated. It would only cement a republican victory come November while allowing Cheney to basically flush whats left of the constitution down the toilet after he's sworn in. Let Bush ride out the rest of his term then let him go back to Crawford and pretend to play cowboy. Unless the democrats grow a huge set of balls and put fourth a motion for impeachment. ![]() |

At this moment, the NSA spies word filtration has extracted your writings and sent them on to HS, the FBI, CIA, and local law enforcement. They've pulled all your info from your ISP and from every other databank your name is tied too and have put you on the no fly list and terrorist watch list and will now watch every transaction you make, every email you send and phone call you make as they come to a final decision on whether to shut off your bank account and acquire everything you own and stick you in prison working for 5cents an hour as customer service for Citibank. |

But I don't want him to be assassinated! And I want to discourage anyone else from doing the same! He should be remembered as the worst president ever! |
