Dems now have more seats than Republicans had at the height of their "Republican Revolution." So much for Karl Rove's permanent majority. He not only helped Republicans lose Congress after just 14 years in power, he also helped shape the agenda for the worst president in American history. Completely bankrupt of ideas or principles, Republicans have actually co-opted Obama's (the guy they consider a communist socialist Muslim Christian anti-American racist traitor) message of change as their own. If what they're offering is change they think we deserve, then they must not think too much of us. I guess they assume that the rest of American is as stupid as what's left of their base. It's hard to convince people that you're the agent of change when you controlled every branch of government for six years and managed to basically run the entire country into the ground. |

That slogan is horrible. It's in God-killing-kittens territory. |

Angela Merkel wrote: That slogan is horrible. It's in God-killing-kittens territory. Even better, "Change You Deserve" is already the slogan of an anti-depression pill. ![]() Effexor, also known as Venlafaxine, is approved for the treatment "of depression, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder in adults." Its common side effects are very much in keeping with the world the House Republicans have striven to build: nausea, apathy, constipation, fatigue, vertigo, sexual dysfunction, sweating, memory loss, and - and I swear I am not making this up - "electric shock-like sensations also called 'brain zaps.'" http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/1 ... 01376.html |

An antidepressant? There'll be good demand for antidepressants in the months to come. Come on, change they deserve? There must be no God. They should have at least used a slogan reflecting "American values" of some sort, and GET THE HELL AWAY from the word "change." ![]() |

Angela Merkel wrote: They should have at least used a slogan reflecting "American values" of some sort, and GET THE HELL AWAY from the word "change." ![]() Could it be that even they realize that they have absolutely no credibility any more when it comes to American values? Nah, self reflection isn't exactly a Republican strong point. I think they're simply desperate and out of ideas, so they're glomming on to what the public seems to want. The problem is that what the public wants is Obama's change, not them and their fiscal insanity and endless wars. |

You know, the same thing goes for Hillary. They are all running tried and true campaigns that have worked in the past, and the American people have become more sophisticated and aware of the manipulation, I think. |

Too bad 9/11 didn't happen while a good president was in office. Kennedy would've served us well. |

Good looking Presidents have it easy, nobody will turn on them no matter what they do. If Kennedy did the EXACT same things as Bush, he would be praised. I swear to god. |

One time, one of his opponents called Lincoln "two-faced." He responded by saying "I leave it to you -- if I had two faces, would I be wearing this one?" ![]() |

It's not a matter of left or right. I do wish 9/11 happened under a president with true leadership, regardless of political party. We had the whole world's sympathy, and George Bush told the world to fuck themselves. Would Eisenhower have done something so inconceivably stupid? Now may be too late -- if another attack happens, things may turn out poorly, since too many Americans are already in a jingoist-fascist "patriotism" mindset and might not heed calls for reason and sacrifice. People that espouse the destruction of American values in the name of patriotism are anti-American. |

Munk·E wrote: Your version of patriotism is bashing the current president to no end. Actually, since Bush has eroded our Constitutional rights more than any other president in history, bashing him IS patriotic. Wishing harm on America the way you do and putting Republican interests ahead of your country is just vile and disgusting. |
