Obama will declare VICTORY on May 20th, regardless of Hilary
http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/200805 ... tico/10184Obama plans to declare victory May 20thQuote: Not long after the polls close in the May 20 Kentucky and Oregon primaries, Barack Obama plans to declare victory in his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.
And, until at least May 31 and perhaps longer, Hillary Clinton's campaign plans to dispute it.
It's a train wreck waiting to happen, with one candidate claiming to be the nominee while the other vigorously denies it, all predicated on an argument over what exactly constitutes the finish line of the primary race. The Obama campaign agrees with the Democratic National Committee, which pegs a winning majority at 2,025 pledged delegates and superdelegates--a figure that excludes the penalized Florida and Michigan delegations. The Clinton campaign, on the other hand, insists the winner will need 2,209 to cinch the nomination--a tally that includes Florida and Michigan. "We don't accept 2,025. It is not the real number because that does not include Florida and Michigan," said Howard Wolfson, one of Clinton's two chief strategists. "It's a phony number."

Where did "take them L's" come from? I'm out of the loop here.

Here's another good article : http://www.time.com/time/politics/artic ... ull-nationThe Five Mistakes Clinton MadeQuote: 1. She misjudged the mood That was probably her biggest blunder. In a cycle that has been all about change, Clinton chose an incumbent's strategy, running on experience, preparedness, inevitability  and the power of the strongest brand name in Democratic politics.
2. She didn't master the rules Clinton picked people for her team primarily for their loyalty to her, instead of their mastery of the game.
3. She underestimated the caucus states While Clinton based her strategy on the big contests, she seemed to virtually overlook states like Minnesota, Nebraska and Kansas, which choose their delegates through caucuses.
4. She relied on old money Her donors were typically big-check writers. And once they had ponied up the $2,300 allowed by law, they were forbidden to give more. Obama relied instead on a different model: the 800,000-plus people who had signed up on his website and could continue sending money his way $5, $10 and $50 at a time.
5. She never counted on a long haul Clinton's strategy had been premised on delivering a knockout blow early. If she could win Iowa, she believed, the race would be over. Clinton spent lavishly there yet finished a disappointing third.

Quote: 2. She didn't master the rules Clinton picked people for her team primarily for their loyalty to her, instead of their mastery of the game. In so many ways, Clinton represents 20th century politics. This criticism, among others, sounds exactly like everything that is wrong with Bush. Loyalty over skill or competence. Stubbornness and refusal to admit mistakes. The inability to right a failed strategy or doing so far too late. And of course, the personal attack distraction politics.

The fact that Obama -- a black man with a muslim-sounding name who had only been a Senator for a few years -- won over the biggest insider in all democratic politics says a lot about his leadership skills too. He put together a good team, studied the rules, learned the way to win, organized his followers, and beat Goliath.
People who say he is untested as a leader are not thinking this through.

L, like loss. They put little L's and W's in like, sports schedules/results or whatever. "Take them L's" isnt a particular phrase...just a little bad English mixed with a little sports slang. Unless I'm wrong. But I'm not, ever.

Sounds like I have to introduce that term to my basketball friends. Or not, since our stupid Houston Rockets keep taking them L's. Quote: People who say he is untested as a leader are not thinking this through. I agree. Clinton is like that medical student that gets in with a 4.0 GPA, but pokes somebody's eye out during residency. Running this campaign is the closest she's been to being President, and it is painfully obvious she sucks at it. In other news, Howard Wolfson, Hillary's spokesman, has been shopping around for a book deal!
