Quote: (CNN)  Chelsea Clinton has fielded a lot of questions as she campaigns for her mother's presidential bid, but on Tuesday the former first daughter faced a particularly awkward query for the first time. Campaigning at Butler University in Indianapolis, an audience member asked the 28 year-old whether the Monica Lewinsky scandal had damaged her mother's reputation. "Wow, you're the first person actually that's ever asked me that question in the, I don't know maybe, 70 college campuses I've now been to, and I do not think that is any of your business," Clinton responded, appearing a bit surprised by the question. The crowd immediately cheered loudly at the response. ![]() You can watch the video here. |

The student was later asked why he posed the question and he just wanted to know her opinion on if the whole ordeal made Hillary Clinton a stronger individual. How about not jumping to conclusions Chels. You're campaigning for your Mama now so any question is fair game. Pfft, and to think she refused to field a question from a little child earlier in the campaign. Is she as phony as her mother? |

he shouuldnt have secifically mentioned it; just said "your mothers gone through a lot infront of the public, from what happen in the house ect....do you think its really made her a stronger person" i dunno; i think the answer is obvious; and thats that she stuck with him to keep his name. |

I don't blame her either. And I'm glad she said it. I don't think it was "mean", and I don't think it's a big deal to be honest. What was she, 17 or 18 when the scandal took over America? Imagine all the questions she had to have been asked about her parents then. |

I dunno, I mean it's a question that's probably on a lot of people's minds and he had the right to ask it, but equally, Chelsea had the right to respond to it the way she did. So all's well that ends well. |

am i the only one who felt that the question had very little to do with "none of their business". its a question of reputation, which is public. |

It's always "none of our business" to question the Clintons' moral rectitude. Thanks to Indiana Jones and the Bosnian Sniper, the door has been left wide open to criticize the whole gamut of Clintonian fabrications. She had less to do with creating SCHIP than Al Gore creating the Internets. |
