Michelle Obama has said they are not going to run again if they don't make it this time, it's too hard a slog. But if Hillary gets the nomination somehow and then loses in the fall, I could see party leaders begging Obama to run in 2012.

If Clinton loses the nomination, it's hard to say if she'll run again. It depends on whether she loses he voice after yelling "NOOOOO!" Vader-style at the convention this summer. Seriously though, I think she's done if she doesn't get it this year.

I think they're both done if they lose the election. It's just too much build up for nothing and that will stick.

I could only see Obama running if he DOESN'T get the nomination this year and McCain ends up going the way of Bush with depreciating approval numbers. Then again, they can start another war and then re-elect McCain. Seems to work for them.

I agree with this statement. Hard to see who else Democratic party could turn to in 4 years. The old faces are getting older, will be tiring to see Edwards again, and Gore isn't coming back. They don't want to continue disenfranchising and disillusioning the post-1980 born crowd, who will certainly try to draft Obama in any ways they could.
