Post subject: | Saturday Primary and Chesapeake Tuesday |
The next 7 days: Feb 9 Louisiana Primary (67 delegates) Nebraska Caucus (31 delegates) Washington Caucus (97 delegates) Virgin Islands (9 delegates) Feb 10 Maine Caucus (34 delegates) Feb 12 District of Columbia Primary (37 delegates) Maryland Primary (99 delegates) Virginia Primary (101 delegates) This is where Obama's strength should truly show, and he could come out of Feb 12 with significant momentum and good lead in pledged delegates. |

Obama is winning Washington state for sure, probably by a big margin, and he is more likely to win Virginia than Maryland. |

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080206/ap_ ... aign_money Clinton lends her campaign $5 million. It'll help her with paying for her organizational efforts but there's a chance it might look bad to some of the voters, the same way some republican voters accuse Romney of trying to buy his election. |

Depends how the media spins it. I know Edwards loaned his campaign at least $3m. before Iowa and Obama has loaned his campaign $0.5m a couple of times. I am sure being Hillary they will make it sound desperate and somehow out of bounds of traditional standards. |

I'm pretty sure Obama will win here in Virginia. He is being backed by our governor Tim Kaine, which I'm not sure means a lot but will probably help. |

Heres the schedule: 2/9: Louisiana - 68 Delegates 2/9: Nebraska - 31 Delegates 2/9: Washington - 97 Delegates 2/9: Virgin Islands - 9 Delegates 2/10: Maine - 34 Delegates 2/12: D.C. - 37 Delegates 2/12: Maryland - 99 2/12: Virginia - 103 Delegates 2/19: Hawaii - 29 Delegates 2/19: Wisconsin - 92 Delegates 3/4: Ohio - 162 Delegates 3/4: Rhode Island - 32 Delegates 3/4: Texas - 228 Delegates 3/4: Vermont - 23 Delegates 3/8: Wyoming - 18 Delegates 3/11: Mississippi - 36 Delegates The only ones remaining in Febuary Clinton will likely win are Nebraska and Maine. Obama grew up in Hawaii and Wisconsin has very, very little Latino and Asian folk though it also has little African American folks. However, in December Hillary lead Barack in polls 39-26. One would think the gap has closed considerably since then. And that leads to another problem for Hillary. With Barrack the clear delegate, vote, and state leader, do the people in Ohio change their minds? Same for Texas. |

I think Warner and Webb are backing Obama too. I think he will Virginia, D.C and Maryland. If he can sweep those three that would be huge. If he can gain enough momentum he can carry it into Texas and Ohio and almost lock up the nomination. |

Post subject: | February Primaries - WA, LA, NE, ME, VA, DC, MD, HI, WI |
Only the Democratic primaries are listed, as McCain has the Republican nomination sewn up. February 9: Louisiana, Nebraska, Washington February 10: Maine February 12: District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia February 19: Hawaii, Wisconsin Latest polls: Maryland - January 6-9 Clinton 26% Edwards 12% Obama 39% Virginia - February 7 Clinton 37% Obama 52% Washington State - February 2-3 Clinton 40% Obama 53% No 2008 polls in the other states, it seems. Note that Clinton is the leading fundraiser in Louisiana and Obama leads in Maine. Louisiana could be competitive given Arkansas seems to give off a strong Clinton aura. |

It has a large black population in that state and that I think will swing it to Obama. |

Huckabee won Kansas, by a big margin in fact. Romney was expected to win there, so look like almost all his votes went to Huckabee. |
