Kennedy a family man? He certainly had a family, but most would agree he was a womanizer, something Obama isn't.

Where did you gets your statistics on the youth vote in 1960? BTW, the 26th Amendment, standardizing voting age at 18, hadn't passed yet.

These are the poeple that are though not behind Barrack Obama.

You would think they would be but they are not.

If it Hilary she would have easily won these people over.

Dear god! Re-educate the population? Do you have any idea how asinine this comes across? If you think Democrats are viewed as elitists now, wait till someone higher up seriously starts talking about "re-education".

Thank goodness I wasn't the only one who thought his comments were foolishly asinine. Re-education! Wow.

Because, after all, if one democrat says something then they all agree with it. Just like all Republicans agree with the racist statements made by Strom Thurmond.

Different rules for different folks, Groucho. Republicans shall not be held to the same standards that Democrats are. Haven't you learned this by now?

It's good to see the occaisional attack at from Obama, but if he's going to win I still believe like I said months ago that he needs to become a lot more wonkish. Like Bill Clinton was in the 90s, be able to rattle off stats and ideas about economics and domestic policy and go on at length about it all. I said during the primaries that if he didn't develop a coherent economic plan and talk about it repeatedly he didn't deserve to win. That's till true IMO.

I apologize for such a statement. I was so enraged by the very stupid comment and the support of the comment by Obama supporters. Imo I was trying to point out, if such sentiments become well known by the wider public, they will hurt your cause greatly...

and I also pointed that the democrats are ones that need to win the minds and hearts of more people, Republicans just need to hold on for dear life.

Will Sam apologize, for his statement. I think not because he thinks he was right.

If you do, it's not on THIS forum. And you've stated outright that you support McCain.

Um yeah. I can see how someone can support both sides. It's just that you don't. Clearly. You've said so. So why are you pretending otherwise?

I stated Obama picked the better VP choice an Biden is better the Palin.
I stated how the GOP is evil in many ways and how the democrats are on the moral high ground and can accuse me of being a Republican supporter.

I am just saying its all pointless though...

About Supporting McCain, I would as of now vote for him, so you are right I not only lean McCain, I support him, however just by a hair. That is what I was trying to say.

actually there are like two people on the forum that are fully conservative.

Other McCain supporters on this forum (outnumbered greatly), are mostly moderate independents, so do you accuse them of the same?

I'm not accusing you of anything. You said, "I support John McCain." You said you hope he wins. That's not "leaning McCain," which is what you're claiming now.

Post Re: Latest Gallup: Obama hits 50% for first time
It is possible to support things about each candidate, however if you are voting on issues, I honestly cant understand how somebody is voting for mccain, unless you make over 600 grand a year, because than youd pay higher taxes. That is where the "re-education" thing comes in, because... i dont see how some dont understand; if you are voting on issues, Obamas plan is better for our current economy on just about everything, it is not a matter of opinion. McCain plans LITERALLY is a progression of Bush's hence why people call it bush 3.0; that is not a lie, it is a fact; and Bush is incrediblty unpopular yet McCain has a large amount of support.

That is where "re-education" comes in, because its like a lot of those people probably dislike Bush but like McCain, which given the tiny policy difference, does not make any sense.

Again, POLLS RIGHT NOW do not matter! Its a CONVENTION BOUNCE. Last week Obasmas average lead was over 7%. you think that many peopels minds REALLY changed that much in as week? Hell no. It happens every damn presidential election. Unless Obama has a major slip up, polls will return to where they prior to both conventions in a week or 2; just in time for the debates. AKA heading into the debates, Obama should have a3-4% national lead in polls. After those begin, youll see them either decidedly go one way or just stay the same.

Hell, the bounce may already be fading as the only national poll out today had Obama ahead.

Normally the vote has been around a 2-3% lead by Obama.

Imo if Obama goes in with such a small lead he will not win, due to the race factor that no one like to talk about.

Whatever Obama should go in with a slight lead. yall get the point

Well 1st of all, that brings up the point we all know: popular vote does not win the election. But that still favors Obama. The fact that (baring a major turn of events, which given Obamas soft spoken side and the ieffectiveness of past scandals seems unlikely) he has several huge states all locked up allows him and his team of helpers (hillary, oprah, ect) to spend most of their time and obamas massive treasure chest in the swing states.

2nd, I do not see the race thing mattering. The worlds biggest movie stars, music stars, athletes are all black and have been accepted with open arms. The nation is for the morst part more than ready for a black president.

I agree however my pessimistic nature does not agree with your last point.

The thing is there are a ton of new youth voters but Obama can get an extra million voters in California, it does not make a difference. This massive amount of new votes must come in places like Ohio and such.

If you think your system is screw in Canada, you can have 41% of the vote and win 70% of the seats in the house (Ontario 2007) and you can win 16% of the vote and win only 2 seats out of over 300 (1993 famous Federal Election).
