 Re: Who Will Be President?
Hillary is guilty of a similar comment in this case, though. Oddly enough. In 2008, I remember she alluded to Robert Kennedy's primary-season assassination when justifying remaining in the race.

Trump was literally advocating for inciting violence against Hillary or one of her Supreme Court picks, though. Not the same. I don't care what the "he was joking!" people say, that's what this was.

His defenders' responses are variations on, "He meant people passionately invested in the Second Amendment can stop her at the ballot box in November." Which just seems absurd next to the actual words he said.

Not to mention he clearly was talking about something that would happen after Hillary was already elected and nominating judges, which makes no sense with this "stop her at the ballot box in November" argument.

No it was not the same. She talked about how Jerry Brown (although not specifically mentioning him) ran against her husband in 1992 until the end as well, and he had no chance. The media took the whole conversation out of context to make it another Gotcha. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=k_viZooHxQI

Oh, please. Apologist alert. She inappropriately cited an assassination as a possible primary-season wrinkle which could lift her. The context does not change the kernel of the remark.

David wrote: Oh, please. Apologist alert. She inappropriately cited an assassination as a possible primary-season wrinkle which could lift her. The context does not change the kernel of the remark. You stated it was similar. How exactly did you come to that conclusion? Clinton was taking questions from journalists that were accepting at face value the unprecedented premise that she should suspend her campaign when she had approximately the same amount of votes and was about 100 delegates behind Obama in the delegate race. The journalists were using the Rahm Emmanuel, David Axelrod, and Robert Gibbs talking points designed to shut down the race. She was beating McCain in polls by larger margins compared to Obama. In addition, she was in the process of winning 7 of the last 10 primaries to end the nomination race. I don't remember Ted Kennedy in 1980, Ronald Reagan in 1976, or Eugene McCarthy in 1968 getting the same type of questions. She listed other times that campaigns went forward when behind and the most famous example of needing an alternate candidate. It was not out of the question there could be another Rev. Wright type controversy, but she couldn't state something like that due to the press using Clinton rules. She was not implying any sort of violence to take care of her opponent. Could she have phrased it better? Sure. Trump brought this up on his own with no back and forth questioning eliciting an unartful reply. It is does not take a tortured reading or listening that his rhetoric is dangerous and is designed to normalize violence as a possible response. He was lying about Clinton and justices revoking the 2nd Amendment. With the history of assassinations in this country and the shooting of Gifford recently, along with his irresponsible talk of the election being rigged his speech is reckless.

 Re: Who Will Be President?
Damn, what a tirade.
Both comments were "unartful" and inappropriate. There is the similarity. Everything else, including Hillary's rapid apology versus Trump's defiant spinning and dodging, is different.

Time magazine essentially declares his candidacy dead.
Romney to rescue at least?

Trump and Clinton do not care about people. They are both (though Trump way more) narcissistic pieces of shit. Choose between devil and devil and get fucked. Wake up.
I mean how can you only think for a second that Trump gives a shit about somebody. Trump cares about Trump and Trump only and is in desperate need to be admired.
If he will loose the election he will cry and scream and shame like a little spoiled kid.

That quote sounds more like it was referring to how in a Democracy, the majority often votes for policies that benefit the majority of people at the expense of the weak minority. This would make sense considering this was a big debate amongst the American political elite at the time, particularly in the formation of the constitution.

The quote has only been attributed to Franklin, there's no record of him actually saying or writing it. The actual writer is Gary Strand in 1990. Personally, I regard it as describing the two party system.

Haha. I just watched them replay this earlier. The very definition of denial, I think.

The woman saying how straight couples had worked so hard was the best part, because they've literally never had to work for anything. They've always been the norm.

Hillary's massive bump from the all time great DNC is waning. WHY doesn't she do speeches or press conferences the way Trump is doing? She is letting him chip away when she should be trying to put him away.

 Re: Who Will Be President?
I think his crazy immigration speech he just gave will hurt him though. I can't see many Hispanics voting for him now. He will probably lose the Non white vote by record numbers and makes it nearly impossible to be president.

 Re: Who Will Be President?
Hillary is not Barack Obama. I think it would be a mistake to assume she will get all of his voters.
Hopefully she is not expecting a cake walk of a debate.
