So, no, this wouldn't be that.

Re: The Official VP Speculation Thread
WSJ on Candidates’ Latest Veep Lists: Obama - Joseph Biden, Evan Bayh, Chris Dodd, Hillary Clinton, Jack Reed, Tim Kaine, Kathleen Sebelius McCain - Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, Rob Portman, John Thune, Charlie Crist, Carly Fiorina, Sarah Palin I'd prefer Kaine, Sebelius, or Bayh for Obama. Still think McCain will pick Romney.

Damn, I was hoping for a magical VP that can bring about a new era of ponies.

I guess Virginia Gov Tim Kaine is now in the spotlight at the top of the Obama speculation list. And so far, he seems keen on the job. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Kaine

He's pro-life, that will piss off Hillary supporters.
I don't especially like any of the four top contenders that he's considering. Kaine is pro-life. Bayh backed Hillary. Biden is too insider and Sebelius is Zzzzzz.

Pro-life works for me. Kaine's ability is questionable though. What about Brian Schweitzer?

I like Schweitzer personally, but I was just reporting what I heard in the news, not offering an opinion on who I think he should pick. I'm not one who regards the choice of VP as all that pivotal really - as long as he doesn't pick someone completely and utterly despicable like Dick Cheney.

Of those four, I like Siebilus best...
I sometimes wish (my governor) Rendell were still in the running. I like him; he's a real political animal. Plus the idea of a Black President and a Jewish President pissing off the bigots amuses me.

I still like Wesley Clark.
I don't know if he was ever seriously in the running, but I wonder if his comment about McCain's military service hurt his chances.

I've always liked Clark, even though he went a little over the top for Hillary, but he's always seemed like a smart guy. But he's no politician, as his comments prove. He accidentally spoke the truth and got pilloried for it.

So I guess it's safe to say that Edwards is no longer in the running, for anything.

Re: The Official VP Speculation Thread
I don't know. Not for vp for sure but given that 18m democrats this spring, most of them women, voted to put a serial philanderer and proven liar about it, back in the white house, I can't see female democrats being too bothered if Edwards was AG later.
About other VP spec:
I don't like Clark, he seems too hot headed to me. I really think that despite the risks, he should go with a woman. Obama frustrates me sometimes in that he often doesn't seem to realize that if he just holds the democrat coalition together, he wins. Pick Sebelius or McCaskill and he can start measuring the drapes for the oval office, imo.

Text "VP" to 62262 and you'll be first to find out Obama's VP.

I don't think they were voting for Bill exactly. If anything, they'd stick with Hill BECAUSE her husband did her wrong. Although I don't think that's really the case either. It wasn't about him at all. Quote: I don't like Clark, he seems too hot headed to me Unsavvy perhaps, but I don't see him as being a hothead. When has he ever really lost his temper in public? It's interesting to me that some of the still crazy Clintonistas are saying that if he picks a woman, he should pick Hillary, and that any other woman is a slap in the face to them. I guess they're only interested in breaking through that class ceiling if it's Hillary doing the breaking. The other qualified and intelligent women can go suck an egg.

It wasn't about him at all. They knew the Clintons had always sold themselves as a team though. And they voted for Bill in 92 after he admitted to multiple affairs. He might not have said the words but he pretty much admitted the rumors were true. And his approval ratings remained very high, like over 75%, even after the Lewinsky incident, while he was still in office. Having said that, I am kind of glad for this scandal in that I thought Edwards and his wife were being treated too much as power brokers, more than they deserved. Being knocked down a peg or two is for the best. I bet he ends up governor of one of the Carolinas in the next decade. Re: The Official VP Speculation Thread
The theme for Wednesday, the third night of the Dem convention, is set now. It's going to be honoring veterans and national security. That is the same night the Vice Presidential candidate will be nominated.
What does that say to you guys about who it could be? Clark, Biden, anyone else?

Re: The Official VP Speculation Thread
Seems like signs are pointing in Tom Ridge's direction as VP. Former governor (bingo) and who cares what his other qualifications are.
Also, I saw this headline and was wondering if the grammar was correct.
"John Edwards' Affair"

yes the grammar is correct. I really want to know who Obama is going to choose...of course Clinton has almost no chance now...
