God, I really want it to be so that her daughter was the one that popped Corky out. The shitstorm to follow.

Maybe. But the dems can't push the experience issue since Obama has none, regardless of how one measure's it. Kinda fucks the dems on all fronts.

Hmm, you've got that the wrong way around. The Dems were never pushing the experience issue, it was the Republicans who pushed it against Obama as a negative point. Now it is the Republicans who look like hypocrites and who can no longer push the experience issue, since McCain just picked a VP with no experience.

Peace,
Mike

Yup. Loyal you have it backwards. They wont say she is inexpirienced, theyll say nothing. Its that McCain can no longer claim Obama is not ready, or that he is more ready than Obama because the Dems can simply say McCains acknowledging Palin isnt ready to be vp either, which they wont do.

They'll let the media and the Alaska GOP (which hates Palin) do the bashing. It's only the inevitable swing after a month of favorable coverage.

This was the smartest choice McCain could have made IMO. No Palin herself, but a woman. That's the only reason she was picked. It'll add interest to his campaign and make it look different that Bush's (even though it's really not).

Post Re: Predict McCain's VP Choice
National Review uses to Palin to once again inadvertently undermine McCain's only remaining talking point about Obama, the lack of experience:

"Critics are already trying to damn Sarah Palin for her perceived lack of foreign-policy experience, but what they are not allowing for is something more important -- that she has the right basic attitudes and sense of priorities. She understands that aggression has to be resisted and commitments have to be honored."

So you can have less than two years experience in high office so long as you have the right basic attitude. Got it.

Supposedly these pictures show her looking pregnant like she should have been.

So maybe that ends it? Sullivan thinks so. It's just as well, she probably would have seemed more sympathetic to some if she had taken on her own grandchild to help out her daughter.

Well it wasn't Obama's camp. I have heard a few democrats like Dodd do it but Obama has been mum on it.

Holy Smokes!

I wonder if the media will pick this up. I could believe it, but would a pregnant 16 year-old really be worth this coverup, even before she nominated as VP??? Seems a little extensive.

I hope not. IMO, this is along the lines of the Obama birth certificate conspiracy. Those people that try to make something out of nothing just end up looking silly and petty.

Well, if she was truly pregnant and gave birth, it would be easily verifiable - just check the hospital records, talk to the doctors, etc. I don't see why in this day and age a teenage pregnancy needs to be covered up in the first place.

http://gov.state.ak.us/bio.php - DailyKos claims this photo is one of the smoking guns. It was taken in 2007 - and judging by the outfits, it was taken in the summer, before the girl allegedly would get pregnant.

So, she's pregnant? Right now? Interesting.

But didn't she still lie about being pregnant then? Or did make the right choice quick enough?

So, if I understand correctly, it looks like this is how it sorts out: Sarah Palin is indeed the mother of her 5th child (and very irresponsible for flying during labour with that child), and her daughter Bristol is currently about 5 months pregnant (with a different child).

McCain claims that he knew about this.

Peace,
Mike

He has to, even though I don't think he really did know, so that his decision wouldn't appear even more rash or shoot-from-the-hip. They're basically doing the vetting catch up after the fact; this is just crazy.

Credible reports are that McCain has been dying to pick Lieberman but the republican insiders like Rove and others kept saying that would be a disaster. So he looked around for another way to be a maverick and this is what he came up with. She was a last minute choice, he'd only met her once.

This is all a load of baloney, and aside from an internet rumor, will never go anywhere, regardless of it's validity. I think it has the potential to really create a backlash for Dems if they push it too hard, especially with women voters.

Democrats will not touch it except for the "its time to be supportive of her and her decision", theyll just let the media due it. People will form their own opinions, and on underage pregnancy, its always the same opinion formed.

Yeah, I don't think Dems will touch Palin much on this issue. They will simply let the story shine a light on McCain's decision making and point at his lack of vetting when making one of the biggest decisions of his campaign.

Seriously, who did McCain really want to pick before Obama dissed Clinton?

McCain's real pick was Lieberman. The GOP said absolutely not.
