Currently the FDA provides no front desk for the public to drop off food and drink purchases suspected of being mislabeled. Instead, they take a phone call and, if interested, buy the item for analysis themselves, except when the adulterant or unlisted additive is not used consistently in the product, the next product lot may not include the offending ingredient and the adulterations may not be caught.
Our media is very good at exposing errors committed by food chains such as Whole Foods Market,
yet ignore similar acts committed by the few near monopolist national corps such as Kraft, and I'm wondering if that is a sign of power by Kraft and the others given the companies' widespread sponsorship of television and that many television outlets are owned in part or whole by news corps.
Is it sponsorship pressure?
