And it also makes perfect sense in terms of politics to keep that side of the family as far away from a photo op as possible. Because of divorced or separated parents, people meet estranged members of their family everyday. Just not Obama I guess. That is bull crap. I know plenty of people who are estranged with one side of their family and the don't talk with any of them. I have a friend who hates his father and he doesn't deal with any of that side of the family. It is very rare that you can get along with a grandparent when you don't get along with their son. His father did desert him, I know if my father deserted me I would want nothing to do with his parents.

I thought that they might have dubbed it for the spanish speaking community, but I think it's better to hear his natural voice. I was hoping he would speak a little in spanish and maybe do a little voice-over. Although Hillary was 1000X more popular than Obama during the primaries in Puerto Rico, Obama went out on a ledge and even had a commercial with him speaking some pretty good spanish.

 Re: Obama infomercial
Obama ad boosts network ratings 26.3 Million Watchedhttp://www.thrfeed.com/2008/10/obama-ad-rating.htmlQuote: On average, Obama's 30-minute primetime infomercial managed to outperform the usual broadcast programming in the 8 p.m. time period.
The Obama special was seen by 26.3 million viewers across broadcasters CBS, NBC and Fox, according to preliminary Nielsen ratings.
The entertainment programming that usually runs in the slot on those three networks has averaged a cumulative 23.1 million viewers each week since the start of the season -- 12% lower than the Obama ad total. Put another way, the time period averages about 7.7 million viewers and a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating per network. In the preliminary ratings, the ad pulled an average of 9.2 million viewers and a 2.7 average rating per network -- boosting the advertiser-friendly adult demo by 13%.
The Ross Perot specials in 1992 averaged 11.6 million viewers, but those were 15 separate specials that ran on different nights. Add in MSNBC,BET, TVone, PBS and it probably goes up to 27 -28 million

 Re: Obama infomercial
effective infomercial.
really cleared the air about that he was redistributing wealth spreader...
It showed the more moderate side of Obama and I hope Obama stays that way as President or else he will be the next Jimmy Carter.

Jimmy Carter's main problem was not what he wanted to do or his morals or anything -- it was that he was really ineffective. He was unorganized, didn't inspire people, and didn't know how to work with his own party. Obama is the exact opposite of that kind of person.

 Re: Obama infomercial
Obama has to clear and strong and he will be able to do a lot of things he wishes to do.
Even still, I think a lot of Lefties will be angry at how cautious Obama will be as President.
-No way the Troops are coming out by at least 2010,
-No way will the Tax cut be as large as promised (that will likely piss of moderates)
-No way will he carry out a great deal of his spending proposals (due to current fiscal situation)
Even still, he will restore respect and honour to the office of the US President. President Bush has made the most respected and most powerful office in the world a joke.
Like I remember during the Regan/Bush years seeing the music playing and the guard all around and such. Will be nice to see those days back.

A side note: Jimmy Carter's administration created more jobs in 4 years than Bush has created in 8, by double. 10 million new jobs under Carter compared to 5 million under Bush.
