 Re: "Terrorist" "Kill him!"
They're now going after Michelle:
Bernardine Dohrn, Ayers' wife and fellow former Weatherman, went to work in 1984 for the major Chicago-based national law firm of Sidley & Austin, and three years later, Michelle joined the mega-firm as well.
McCain spokesperson John Murtagh: "If it is true, the relationship is almost a decade older than Senator Obama has acknowledged. And that can very easily be resolved by Senator Obama, by Mrs. Obama, by Mr. Ayers and by Ms. Dohrn."
"And incidentally, I would emphasize that we've all been focusing on Senator Obama. I think we need to speak to his wife."

The good news is that the more they do this, the more their negative ratings rise. It's not working.

 Re: "Terrorist" "Kill him!"
Well looks like the erratic McCain is changing positions again, he realizes this is getting out of hand and has now started to try and stop it but the crowds are not having it and are starting to boo him. This is turning into a landslide victory for Obama more and more each day. McCain booed after trying to calm anti-Obama crowd http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081010/ap_ ... gry_crowdsQuote: The anger is getting raw at Republican rallies and John McCain is acting to tamp it down. McCain was booed by his own supporters Friday when, in an abrupt switch from raising questions about Barack Obama's character, he described the Democrat as a "decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States."
On Friday, McCain rejected the bait.
"I don't trust Obama," a woman said. "I have read about him. He's an Arab."
McCain shook his head in disagreement, and said:
"No, ma'am. He's a decent, family man, a citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with (him) on fundamental issues and that's what this campaign is all about."
Quote: McCain changed his tone Friday when supporters at a town hall pressed him to be rougher on Obama. A voter said, "The people here in Minnesota want to see a real fight." Another said Obama would lead the U.S. into socialism. Another said he did not want his unborn child raised in a country led by Obama.
"If you want a fight, we will fight," McCain said. "But we will be respectful. I admire Sen. Obama and his accomplishments." When people booed, he cut them off.
"I don't mean that has to reduce your ferocity," he said. "I just mean to say you have to be respectful."

 Re: "Terrorist" "Kill him!"
McCain strikes me as a generally decent guy who wants the presidency so bad and thus let the conservative nutjobs take over his campaign. Picking Palin was probably their idea. McCain probably feels he's over his head now, and sees that Palin is out of control, and is desperately trying to backpedal. Can't say I blame him.

I often feel bad that he's "stuck in the middle of this." But then I realize that doesnt make much sense.

 Re: "Terrorist" "Kill him!"
I don't know if I'd buy McCain as helpless passenger in his campaign. He's a war vetern/POW with a fiery temper and likes to call himself a renegade Maverick that stands up to his party. Not exactly the profile of a guy that would let others call the shots in his campaign.
Personally, I think he'll do anything to win, and he's trying to have his cake and eat it too. He wants to have the image of a nice, but tough guy who doesn't sling mud. He wants to have the image of a renegade Maverick that can work with both Democrats and Republicans.
However, he realizes he can't win with this strategy... he gets Sarah Palin to shore up the ultra-conservatives, and her and his campaign staff sling the mud for him while he sits back like he's innocent of it.
I see it more of his pride and fiery temper getting the best of him... he looks like a man that'll do anything to win right now. It's just backfiring on him... he looks desperate and his campaign is all over the map.
Personally, I think it's one of the worst run campaigns I have ever seen, but I believe he is in complete control of it.

Yeah, I obviously can't say for certain his character, but what I've heard of him is more learning towards the prick side of things.

 Re: "Terrorist" "Kill him!"
I'm on the Trixster/Kypade side. Its tragic to watch this happen with McCain, the irony for me is if he got the Republican nomination in 2000 and beat Gore (and 2000 McCain would have won easily IMO) he would have been a decent President, at least far feckin better then Bush. 2008 McCain is a symbol of a man corrupted by the lust for power and its terrible to see.

So either he's a desperate and nasty demagogue who will trash the patriotism of his opponent with false accusations just to win power. OR, he's a hapless bystander in his own campaign who can only stand by as his surrogates trash the patriotism of his opponent with false accusations. Either way, he is not even remotely fit to be president.

 Re: "Terrorist" "Kill him!"
John McCain's rally on Friday once again inspired furious reactions from his supporters, with one woman screaming "traitor!" as McCain criticized Barack Obama's tax record.
"He promised higher taxes on electricity," McCain charged at the event in La Crosse, Wisconsin. "He voted for the Democratic budget resolution that promised to raise taxes on people making just $42,000 a year." At that point, the woman yelled "traitor," and both McCain and his wife Cindy appeared to look in her direction.
The Arizona Senator continued with his stump speech without referencing her.So much for calming down the crazies.

 Re: "Terrorist" "Kill him!"
Is it just me or does anyone else think these nutjob mccain supporters (ie. the ones in the vids above) dont want to see a black guy as president and are just too embarrased to say it, rather call him a muslim/terrorist/arab etc as its a lot easier to get away with?

 Re: "Terrorist" "Kill him!"
Classy as always Obama shines in his response... You can attack the other guy and still be respectful. Obama notes McCain's effort to temper GOP comments http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081011/ap_on_el_pr/obama Quote: Barack Obama acknowledged Saturday that John McCain has asked his supporters to temper their attacks on him. But the Democratic presidential nominee said the Republican's economic plans remain wrong for the country. "I appreciated his reminder that we can disagree while still being respectful of each other," Obama told supporters in Philadelphia. He said McCain "has served this country with honor, and he deserves our thanks for that."
However, Obama said, McCain "still doesn't get it" regarding the economy.

 Re: "Terrorist" "Kill him!"
The pastor invocation from today's McCain rally in Iowa:
"I would also pray, Lord, that your reputation is involved in all that happens between now and November, because there are millions of people around this world praying to their god  whether it’s Hindu, Buddha, Allah  that [Obama] wins, for a variety of reasons. And Lord, I pray that you will guard your own reputation, because they’re going to think that their god is bigger than you, if that happens. So I pray that you will step forward and honor your own name with all that happens between now and election day.â€Â

Honestly... I don't know if there will be more outrage if Obama is elected, or if McCain is...
Who ever wins... America is going to be split in two because of the 2 bastards on the Republican ticket.

He had a monkey wearing an Obama sticker, realized he was being filmed, and passed the monkey to a kid he presumably didn't know.
