 Re: Who Will Be President?
Millennials can be poor protestors on an aesthetic level. I saw footage from Chicago where they were bouncing, laughing, posing for selfies. A total air of, "This is awesome, bro. We are going to be on TV. Everyone on Twitter knows we have a social conscience and are feeling the Bern!" It seems to me one should project a certain dignity, a certain sense of righteous purpose, when calling a candidate a dangerous fascist. Conveying we-are-doing-this-to-be-trendy superficiality will only deepen the conviction of Trump's wage-earning, salt-of-the-earth, I-don't-recognize-my-country-these-days, what-is-a-micro-aggression base.

It's fine if they disagree with Trump but I've been to one of his events and it's a lot of families and ages all across the spectrum and it's not like everyone who attends even agrees with what he's saying. They go there to listen respectfully and hear the speech, not disrupt it like a buffoon. Wow, what a load of drivel. So the protesters are "nasty and intrusive" but the bigots attending Trump rallies like it's a KKK event are there to "listen respectfully"? What world are you living in? lol

Charging Trump in Ohio and getting tackled by the Secret Service then getting released and posting selfie to Instagram?

I wouldn't expect anything less from Libs. Of course, you'd call the attendees bigots and compare it to a KKK event. That's just nonsense but that's how leftist work. Label Label Label. Shout down and claim violence and racism. It's old as hell and the public is sick of it. The protesters there were nasty and intrusive. I assume you have a set of working eyeballs and saw what happened in the arena.

I'm confused here. KKK events? You mean that organization founded by Democrats? What would they be looking for at a Republican event?

 Re: Who Will Be President?
I wouldnt call Trump rally attendeeds all bigots - thats a huge generalisation. The fact that people feel the need to be drawn to someone like him (mainly due to the appearance of gettings someone who isnt completely PC) is more an idictment of the current administration (much like the Bush presidency helped sweep in Obama).
Trump would be a disaster of a candidate and president so i hope it doesnt happen - but that doesnt excuse the behaviour of some of the idiot commies and teeny boppers who are causing mayhem at his recent rallies.
The irony is - these attacks may actually make Trump more sympathetic and help his cause rather than hinder it.

It's as fair as ever to say bigotry describes such things as banning Muslims from travel. And if you don't think that, or associating yourself with that, can be called bigotry, please explain why not.

 Re: Who Will Be President?
I didn't say everyone at a Trump rally is a bigot.
I'm talking about the racist white "nationalists" who think it's acceptable to punch and shove black people because, you know, Make America Great Again.
Trump is instilling a culture of fear and hate. I'm sorry you feel like that's the way to go, nghtvsn.

I think that some are stupid and probably dont understand the consequences of supporting the guy. They may not also believe he'll follow through with some of the things he has said. Trump will do and say whatever he needs to in order to WIN. Not just get elected - but WIN. That's all he cares about. He's all over the place on pretty much every issue.

Shack wrote: All Trump voters may not be racist, but all racists support Trump Not according to BJs post. And btw, Trump may be the best thing to happen to the Republicans. We all agree that he will lose either to Clinton or to Sanders. I doubt he will run again in four years, so the GOP has that time to reconsider what has happened during this election and why the electorate has given most of the other opponents the cold shoulder. If they keep making the same mistakes in the next four years than its their fault and they deserve to be in the opposition after that election too.

Interesting hypothetical:
Trump wins presidency in 2016, Kanye West somehow becomes Democratic nominee in 2020. Who would you vote for between the two (assuming no third party)?

Republicans have been told to ignore reality for the last few decades. Don't trust experts, academics, government, the establishment, or the media. Now that Trump has ridden that pride in ignorance to the top of the Republican primary, they have no discernible way of stopping him, because there is no authority the establishment can appeal to get the plurality of Trump supports to get off this suicidal death ride. Democrats don't suffer from the same authoritarian impulses, denial of reality, attraction to celebrity, and deference to "successful" business people. People forget that Trump has been flirting with running for decades, and has really worked the Right wing circuit the last 4-5 years. None of those factors are present with KW. The only thing they have in common is they are megalomaniacal con men with sociopathic tendencies. I am still not positive Trump gets the nomination. I think he takes the RNC for a $500m-1b shakedown to bow out.

I think Rubio will eek out a win, but he needs to win somewhere else. Winning his home state will not be enough. Aaand he's out. Expected, but still kind of a wow.

 Re: Who Will Be President?
This has been an excellent night for Clinton tonight, so far, with expected big wins in Florida and North Carolina, and a projected win in Ohio as well with only 13% reporting. The margin there must be pretty impressive (20 pts or more, perhaps) as well to call it already.
And Illinois is looking pretty good right now, too!
She could potentially win all five contests tonight (even Missouri is looking good) and walk away with over 400 delegates, bringing her total well above 1,600 (or almost 70% required to clinch the nomination).

Yeah Hillary is killing it tonight.
Little Marco is done. Bye!
Kasich takes Ohio! I would give my life to see an ugly brokered convention. Burn the Republican Party to the ground.

 Re: Who Will Be President?
Clinton's win tonight in Ohio was expected. She's been getting lopsided media coverage over Sanders on both national and local levels in Ohio. The last time I saw Sanders on the front page of any political news sites was the night of the Flint, Michigan debate, while Clinton received way more headlines about her campaign rallies. If we are to have competitive and informative elections, the media need to be fairer to the candidates and report on the arguments on the candidates and issues. Elections are not just about cheering and shouting and scripted speeches at the campaign rallies.
