What does that have to do with his race?

the big thing is how astonishingly quickly he has made hillarys lead vanish in some states people thought she would win big. i dont see why he cant do to john mccain.

Obama was smart and ran a 50 state campaign. No reason he won't do the same against McCain. His organizational and leadership skills are evident in the way he runs his campaign, after all.

Seeking to raise the expectations for for its rival, Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign said Friday that Sen. Barack Obama needs to sweep the March 4 primaries.

The Illinois senator should win all four states — Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island and Vermont — decisively, given the amount of money and resources he has devoted to them, the Clinton campaign said in a memo circulated to reporters.

"If he fails to garner big wins, there's a problem," the memo states.

LOL so if it he wins only 3/4 he is in trouble? If he he wins 2 (and I mean one of those two being either Texas or Ohio), she has to drop out because she would have no hope.

I'm sure a lot of this is just her campaign being boisterous on her behalf, but I hope Hillary knows what she's doing.

If things don't go her way Tuesday and she keeps this up, she's going to incur some wrath, and I'll be among those railing against her.

I'm just soaking this all in, by the way. The excitement here in Texas is huge. In addition to the Obama rally last Friday, Bill Clinton came to the UT campus Wednesday night. Ron Paul was here Saturday. Yesterday I just happened to pass by Benjamin McKenzie from The O.C. on campus campaigning for Obama (hey, I'll take any sighting I can get). Early voting ends today, and numbers thus far have shattered 2004 totals.

I voted today, in fact. Lines were long and weren't letting up by the time I was finished.

I'm interested in seeing how these caucuses are going to play out. I'll be attending Tuesday night, and I'm still honestly not entirely sure what to do.

I think Hillary might win texas and ohio by slim margins. She'd still be behind in delegates and likely go into the convention with less delegates but she will probably make a big speech saying how she over came the big bad obama and how she's the people's choice and all that. And all the super delegates then get migraines, wishing it would all be over.

obama is going to win texas. The margin in the polls is growing bigger and bigger in his favor. Ohio is a toss up.

The polls in the bigger, diverse states haven't been that accurate really. Look at Cali for example. Not saying Ohio and Texas will differ much from the polling before TUES, but there is a good chance they could be off. So I wouldn't look much into either Obama or Clinton having any lead in OH or TX, even if it was double digits. Who comes out to vote has been key, and may play the biggest role TUES. Will some Obama supporters, or at least voters leaning towards him, first time voters, stay at home since the media is painting him as the likely DEM nominee? And will the Clinton supporters rally and come out in large numbers? I think something like this may have played a small role in NH and maybe even Cali since some polls had Obama near, or at, double digit leads over her. Same in MA with pretty much the entire state of high-profile politicians endorsing him. We'll see what happens.

And if she wins both OH and TX, I'd have to think she'd be better to go against McCain. Especially if she'd win PA in April. Winning the three biggest swing states, OH, FL, and PA would just be too much to pass up I think. And, what is it, no REP has ever won the presidency when losing OH?

One factor in California was early voting. Hillary had a HUGE contingent of people that voted early, as in a month early. That was partially why he had a 10 point lead in the polls and ended up losing. The other huge factor was the Hispanic vote, which at the time was hugely in her favor. It still is in her favor, but things have changed quite a bit and she's not killing him in Texas with Hispanics the way she did in California. As for New Hampshire, that was a classic case of the voters deciding to keep the race going when the media was trying to end it prematurely.

I think if she pulls anything you could see Howard Dean, Al Gore and John Edwards step in and start choosing sides to try to end it.

I really do wonder what will happen if Hillary wins OH and TX.

Right now, I'm pretty much under the impression that Obama will win at least TX and pull ahead by more than 225 delegates at the end of March 4th and go on to win the nomination. I think Hillary is just about over so I'd be a bit dumb-founded if she wins big on Tuesday and keeps the race red hot.

I'm at a crossroads as to who I actually want to get the nomination. I know who I want to be our next President and that's Hillary. I kept flip-flopping for a few months and even voted for Obama in the primary but now I'm 85% Hillary. However, I think Obama would make a stronger candidate against McCain. Yes, they will try to bring him down by the time November rolls around but I really don't think alot of people are going to be taken for that ride. I think Obama will talk and "inspire" his way out of anything they throw at him and I'm positive more Hillary supporters will quickly switch to Obama supporters than Obama supporters would vote for Hillary if she gets the nom.

I just don't know anymore. This has been one hell of a race, I can tell you that! I'm REALLy excited for Tuesday. Too bad I won't be huddled in bed with my laptop next to me and CNN in the background but I'll be listening till 8pm pacific on the radio.

If she wins either of them she will keep going. If she wins both you will see her camp spinning so much about how they've won all the big states, etc. They're already doing it in fact, even though it looks like Obama will win Texas.

I agree, I'm just saying that her camp is already spinning like crazy. Howard Wolfson is VERY annoying when he goes on TV to spin for her. He claims that Obama had everything going for him and that there's no reason he shouldn't win both states. What a crock of shit. Never mind the fact that Hillary was up by 20-25% in both states just TWO WEEKS AGO! She has the most important thing on her side: name brand. Obama is chipping away at that with his advertising advantage, but that doesn't change the fact that the deck was heavily stacked in her favor starting this campaign in every state across the country, and in pretty much every state she has had huge leads until Obama shows up to actually campaign.

It really bugs me how the Clinton camp has convinced the press that she has gotten unfair coverage. She lost 11 straight - anyone else who lost 11 straight would have been laughed out of the race.

The really hilarious thing is that she's already doing some prep work to say that when Obama wins Texas it will mean nothing, but if she wins it, THEN it'll mean something. I know this is politics as usual, but I find it extremely amusing.

Looks like Hillary has been making substantial gains in the past few days. New polling data from Rasmussen now shows her consistently doing slightly better than Obama against McCain in the general election. But it might be too little too late.

I don't really know what I want out of tomorrow night. Ideally I'd want Clinton to score decisive victories in Rhode Island and Ohio and at least win in Texas. But, if, and since that seems unlikely, I my second option would be to just have everything come to an end after tomorrow night. We will see, I guess...

Maybe it's the momentum, but I'm starting to move more towards Obama, despite being pretty decisive in favour of Clinton a few months back. As much as the so-called "Obama phenomenon" has never really caught on with me (maybe because I don't live in the States), I think he would probably be the best candidate to run for President at this point. A Clinton victory would probably seriously damage the Dems' chances of winning the Presidency, given the likelihood that she would have to fight one hell of an uphill battle to win the nomination. And there's no doubt that that kind of battle would be a nasty, demoralizing one for the Democratic establishment.

Jebus, Democrats better pick a candidate fast, it's getting to the point where the party is starting to polarize towards one candidate or the other, and beginning to actually dislike the candidate opposite.

Not a good sign, the last thing this party needs is to implode now. It can't do anything but hurt them in the GE, a brokered convention could be the death of the party.

The funny thing is, Obama and Hillary are so similar when it comes to policy, the differences between them are 95% superficial, yet there is such extreme polarization to one or the other. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
