Total is around 190 billion in new spending. This is a shoddily biased article but key notes:

Quote:
The biggest item is $65 billion to prevent a 21% cut in Medicare physician reimbursements. Democrats promised this to the American Medical Association in return for its ObamaCare support, but they left the $65 billion out of the health-care law to make it look less expensive.

The $47 billion to extend unemployment insurance to nearly two full years will bring the total spent on this program to $137 billion during this recession—five times more than in either of the prior two recessions. That's nearly as much as the federal corporate income raised in 2009.

This bill is also one of the most expensive corporate welfare giveaways in recent years with subsidies for municipal bond traders, cotton farmers, yarn producers, sheep growers, Hawaiian sugar cane cooperatives, motor sports businesses, renewable energy firms, the steel lobby, and so on.

All of this is "paid for," in the Beltway lingo, with a net tax increase on business of about $40 billion and at least $134 billion of new debt. There's a new 24 cent a barrel tax on oil companies, which would flow to consumers in higher gas prices, because Congress says the industry's profits are excessive.

Managers of private equity and venture capital firms that provide the start-up and expansion funding to businesses would see their tax rate rise to as high as 35% from 15% today—a huge tax increase when businesses are starved for capital. And small, often family-owned Subchapter S companies that provide professional services would be required to subject more of their profits to the self-employment tax. These firms already pay up to 35% tax on these profits, so under the Democratic plan their tax rate could reach 50%.

There's also talk of a 165 billion union pension bailout: http://www.foxbusiness.com/personal-fin ... n-bailout/

Obviously nothing like last year, but still dumb. The Obama administration is spending like a newly married golddigger

You know this is real money. Not Monopoly money.

And where are all those jobs you said were going to be created with your past acts. Wasn't that a big past promise.

No. I owe a ton in student loan debt and you and America do not owe me shit for it. When the government repays loans it encourages colleges to raise tuition (deep-pocket big government can pay anything) and encourages non-college material to waste time in college, often getting a degree that is unused.

Too many people go to college and college is mostly about getting drunk and fucking, not educating.

True. The government doesn't owe you much but it sucks when they keep on giving away everything and all your doing is getting more debt on your tab.

Scared to look how much debt has raised under Obama.

And just like I said for years for things like social security. Not sure why the aren't doing means test and much higher taxes for the wealthy

I have a friend who got govt breaks on a new house and car even though he had the extra money to spend. And forget about that law that let's people sell their homes tax free up to a certain $ amount. Think the govt needs the money more than them.

Anyway. I sure don't mind paying extra taxes in the years that I make great money. As I usually end up pissing away extra money on pretty wasted things that I don't need anyway.

Here's a novel concept: how about you earn it yourself?

Great Job Obama on that Health Plan.

Just heard on the news that it should cost the American taxpayer about 4 times what you said. Why? Well as the penalty for a company not giving an employee health insurance is only 2,000. So with insurance costing a company from 5,000 to 20,000 a year - many more than expected are expected to just cancel the insurance and then they can even give the employee a raise, still save some money and then let the taxpayer pay for the excessive future health care. So super job Obama!

PS. Two quick questions off the top of my head.

- why the f was the penalty set at 2,000 - it should have been 5,000 or so. But I bet they didn't want to scare businesses and figured that they would just screw the future taxpayers.

- and is there any increase in that 2,000 penalty over time as you know everything else is going to go up, including this health care.

So heard they extended unemployment for now into the 2 and 3 year but they stopped helping NEW people with the extra COBRA dollars....

well if it is too expensive, cut it out for all....but they just want to be able to say they are helping, no matter how really little it really is.

I really can't stand seeing stories on people who've been on unemployment for a year or more because there is simply no reason for it other than that individual who was probably make 50+ thousand before just not wanting to work for less dollars. I mean, they might as well be on the same level as those cases who stand on intersections holding up signs. Lazy bums. Get another job for now and work on getting a higher one on the side instead of taking tax dollars for a freaking year.
