Top 12 Weirdest Right Wing Conspiracy Theories of 2009
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/12/2 ... &&&&&&&&&&OK, there are left wing loonies too, but they're not members of congress and prominent talk show hosts and such. This is just crazy.

Some of those aren't conspiracy theories.
Like the thing about the bow in Japan - stupid to complain about? Sure! But not a conspiracy theory. The thing about socialism is a slippery slope type argument, not a conspiracy theory. The EMP thing is just someone being paranoid about a potential type of attack, but how is that a conspiracy theory?
I would say that the only truly bizarre right-wing conspiracy theory of last year was the birther movement.

I would say that the only truly bizarre right-wing conspiracy theory of last year was the birther movement. Well, it all depends on how you define conspiracy theory, I guess. Maybe it should have been labeled "paranoid delusions." People out there think that Obama is conspiring to bring socialism to America secretly somehow, so I can see how some would consider that a conspiracy theory. I disagree that the birther movement was the only bizarre one. Claiming that the census was being done so that Obama could round up his enemies and put them in concentration camps ranks up there with classic right-wing conspiracy theories like "the liberals want to steal our precious bodily fluids."

Honestly, this is the first time I'm hearing it. If there's a lot of people that actually think that, then I guess you've got a point.

I had never heard that one. Is it a John Birch Society belief or similar to "chlorine in our water"? I would add to the list the stupid right-wingers who believe in a North American Highway and changing from the dollar to the "Amero." There are a ton of those guys, but that conspiracy goes back to Clinton, so not really 2009, though it pops-up every time there is an immigration debate.

What in the world are you doing on a movie bulletin board? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057012/Caius wrote: I would add to the list the stupid right-wingers who believe in a North American Highway and changing from the dollar to the "Amero." The interment camp one got more press then the Amero and North American Highway but you are in the right group of people. They even had lists on the internet about where these camps were and of course some people whose families are effected by these loony theories went out to debunk those sites. So now its anyplace that can be set up as camp like the Superdome in New Orleans. BTW its Fluoride in the water that sets them off. None of those theories are anything new they go back before the John Birchers and many have there roots in the "Elders of Zion" My favorite is the Lizard shape shifters.
