Now she could be fired at any time for any reason. What is she gaining by becoming Secretary of State other than being etched into history books? Does she really need another reason other than being etched into history books? Isn't wanting to be etched into history books the prime motivating thing for people like her, Bill, McCain, Barack etc?

Obama will appoint General Shinseki as Secretary of Veterans Affairs. This is definitely the biggest direct "fuck you" to the Bush administration so far.

Way back when, he testified in front of Congress that there would be a need for several hundred thousand troops for the war. Rumsfeld pooh-poohed him. And now, look...

Re: Obama's Cabinet (Robert Gates To Stay On)
I don't think Obama's main thought was "fuck you" to Bush. Shinseki seems like a pretty strong pick for Veteran's Affairs.

Re: Obama's Cabinet (Robert Gates To Stay On)
A handful of beltway noise makers. Who cares? Obama today stood up for striking union workers who are owed back pay. We're going to be out of Iraq in 2 years. We have a new New Deal infrastructure project in the works with a focus on greener energy. We have Tom Daschle overseeing a new health care plan. Obama is not the leftist big government hippie that people on both sides seem to think he is. He never promised universal health care. He never said he was anti-war. He has always been for tax cuts. BOTH sides need to get that through their heads. He's not Dennis Kucinich. He's a left-center politician, but more importantly, he knows what he's doing, he's smart and he's competent. That alone is a big change from the past 8 years.

Quote: WASHINGTON - Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich was arrested by FBI agents Tuesday morning on federal corruption charges, officials said.
....
A 76-page FBI affidavit alleges that Blagojevich was intercepted on court-authorized wiretaps during the last month conspiring to sell or trade for personal gain the state's U.S. Senate seat, which is being vacated by President-elect Barack Obama. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28139155/What a fucking moron.

I'm not sure what that was posted in this thread, he and Obama aren't really friends.

 Re: Obama's Cabinet
I only put it in here because it dealt with Obama's replacement. If you want to move it, I don't mind.
Is Illinois now Louisiana north?
