Post Al Qaida Wants McCain To Win The Presidency For An Attack
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081022/ap_ ... election_2

Al-Qaida-linked Web site backs McCain as president

AP WASHINGTON – Al-Qaida supporters suggested in a Web site message this week they would welcome a pre-election terror attack on the U.S. as a way to usher in a McCain presidency.

The message, posted Monday on the password-protected al-Hesbah Web site, said if al-Qaida wants to exhaust the United States militarily and economically, "impetuous" Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain is the better choice because he is more likely to continue the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"This requires presence of an impetuous American leader such as McCain, who pledged to continue the war till the last American soldier," the message said. "Then, al-Qaida will have to support McCain in the coming elections so that he continues the failing march of his predecessor, Bush."

SITE Intelligence Group, based in Bethesda, Md., monitors the Web site and translated the message.

"If al-Qaida carries out a big operation against American interests," the message said, "this act will be support of McCain because it will push the Americans deliberately to vote for McCain so that he takes revenge for them against al-Qaida. Al-Qaida then will succeed in exhausting America till its last year in it."

Mark Salter, a senior McCain adviser, said he had heard about the Web site chatter but had no immediate comment.

The message is credited to a frequent and apparently respected contributor named Muhammad Haafid. However, Haafid is not believed to have a direct affiliation with al-Qaida plans or knowledge of its operations, according to SITE.

SITE senior analyst Adam Raisman said this message caught SITE's attention because there has been little other chatter on the forums about the U.S. election.

SITE was struck by the message's detailed analysis — and apparent jubilation — about American financial woes.

"What we try to do is get the pulse of the jihadist community," Raisman said. "And it's about the financial crisis."

Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden issued a videotape just four days before the 2004 U.S. presidential election directly addressing the American people.

One can only hope the media picks up on this.. McCain really is the one you want backing us if were attacked again.. I'm sorry but it's true..

They want McCain to win so he will continue "the failing march of his predecessor, Bush."
Meaning with McCain they get to continue killing Americans.
They aren't saying that McCain would be better in case of an attack, they're threatening attack in order to get McCain in the white house so the war doesnt end. This should not be considered a good thing for McCain (or his supporters).

"if al-Qaida wants to exhaust the United States militarily and economically"

in other words, they want America to be crushed, and they think McCain is the only way to do that.

What they're really saying is if you enjoy having a military and working economy, vote Obama.

So let's say Obama is out next President and were attacked again ala 9/11.. Your telling me Obama would be better in a situation involving this than a guy like McCain who was actually a POW?? A guy who more than served our Country and knows the enemy?? Look, I get that this site is 99% Pro Obama, but let's be real here for a moment.. Think about this..

If Al Qaeda actually wanted McCain to win they would overtly support Obama.

As it stands this is obviously a ploy by Democrat supporters...

I have no idea how either of them would handle that sort of event. No one does. I havent felt like I could trust McCain on anything for months, so I'm inclined to believe he'd fuck something up. And I dont see how being a POW has anything to do with anything.

But that's not my point. My point is, when the enemy wants McCain because they think he would be better for them and worse for the US, why is that a good thing?

Anyway, didn't they have an official notice a few months ago that it didn't matter who won the presidential election that they would continue on their path of destroying the US? I know Iran said it didn't matter who won, but I though that the Al Qaeda said the same...

Ah, of course!

If they had endorsed Obama, you'd be posting something saying "See? The terrorists want Obama as President!" but since they endorsed the other guy, you are posting "See? The terrorists want Obama as President!"

I get it, don't worry.

I agree with Bradley in the sense that... If Al Qaeda were smart and they really wanted McCain to win, they would publicly support Obama, because that would make Obama look bad. Neither presidential candidate wants to be "supported" by Al Qaeda, it's just bad publicity any way you look at it. BKB is probably the only person in the world who might actually spin this as a positive for McCain.

In fact I recall in the last election they supported the democratic nominee? And that seemed as if it was meant to increase the popularity of Bush, who Al Qaeda supposedly much more preferred to see as a president. After all, they DO want a war-mongerer as the president of America, it's better for them if they want to become more popular among america-haters.

Then again, I guess it's hard to say what Al Qaeda actually thinks of anything, unless it comes directly from one of their leaders. I doubt this Al Qaeda-related website is the "official" voice of Al Qaeda?

First of all, who cares what al Qaeda does or says about endorsements?

Second, according to Republicans, when they endorsed KERRY in 2004, that was bad for Democrats.

When Hamas endorsed Obama, that was bad for Democrats.

And now al Qaeda endorsing McCain is bad for...Democrats.

The yahoos above who are saying this is means they want Obama to win are full of crap. They would spin it as bad for Obama no matter what.

Well, so much for detente without preconditions.
I have a feeling that race does matter with Al Qaida and that they believe with a President Obama they will no longer be seen as "holding righteous indignation over Western/European Culture", or over "a narrow-minded Christian nation".
They need a right-wing warhawk of lighter color to promote their agenda of rebellion against class oppression.

Of course Al-Qaeda would prefer McCain. He's the closest one to Bush, and Bush has worked splendidly for recruitment.
