Not a single thread on them, so here it is.

It seems Gov. Gregoire could be in danger of losing her GOV race against Rossi. The polls show them pretty much tied or with one of them +1 or +2. Though the last Rasmussen poll had Rossi up by 6.

The latest poll from Kentucky (Sept 27th) has the McConnel, Lunsford race in a dead heat, so the Senate Minority Leader could be in some real danger here, and would be a great victory for the DEMS in the Senate.

And another important race in my eyes is the Dole/Hoga Senate Race in NC. The latest poll actually has Hogan up by 3 points. It the DEMS can end up winning this seat, it'd be another important victory come NOV.

I'm watching the Senate really close this year, and for the first time I (realistically) think the Dems can get to 60 seats.

Sure thing:
VA
NM

Almost Clinced:
CO
NH

Great shot:
AK
OR
MN
NC

Tossups:
KY
GA
MS

I can even see TX or ID coming into play the way things are going now.

In my family's home state, I'd love to see that douche bag Saxby Chambliss defeated.

In California, Feinstein isn't up for reelection until 2012, but I'd love to get her out of there as well.

She will probably run for GOV again (2010) once Arnold Schwarzenegger leaves. She'd have a much better chance now than she did in 1990.

And The Terminator is rumored to run for the Senate in 2010, but since Boxer announced she was indeed running for re-election in 2010 (maybe to keep Arnold out of her seat?? hmmm), it won't be easy that's for sure.

Quote:
Barbara vs. Arnold?
Strongly rumored to be considering a run for the Senate in 2010 is none other than mega movie-star Republican, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Arnold would presumably crush any lesser known Democrat running against him, as he did in his 2006 gubernatorial reelection.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is a charismatic, rising superstar in the Republican Party, and his ambitions know few (if any) bounds. No one doubts that Arnold, who is ineligible to be President, would dearly love to take a star turn in the U.S. Senate.

But standing in the way of Arnold's D.C. ambitions may unexpectedly be Sen. Barbara Boxer, one of the most popular and progressive senators in blue state California history. Sen Boxer beat her 2004 Republican opponent by a margin of more than 20%, and garnered the most votes (6,955,728 votes) ever cast in California for a U.S. senator.

Is it merely coincidence that Sen. Boxer found renewed energy for reelection when faced with the strong prospect of a Republican taking her Senate seat? I think not.

The interesting question is: Will Arnold take the big gamble of running against popular incumbent Sen. Boxer? Or will the governator shelve his storied political career to return to the silver screen?

I have one easy prediction: a senatorial race pitting glamorous Republican maverick Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger against progressive heroine Sen. Barbara Boxer would be THE post-2008 election political headline grabber. And the likely end of either political superstar's career.

Schwarzenegger is probably the only person who could possibly beat her, but I think she could pull it off. And I've love to see her run for President in the future. And beating Schwarzenegger if he decides to challenge her would really give her a name to run on more.

If not Hillary in 2012 or 2016, then Boxer/Rendell or Rendell/Boxer.

I'm surprised you know who he is. But, yes.

Why, think he should run for a seat in.... 2028 or so?

How can I miss him when he's had a few videos on the most watched list from time to time? Should he run for a seat? If he thinks he can make a difference then why not? He's very opinionated and hardly shy, however, he did have a video of himself doing some extracurricular activity but in 2028 maybe no one will remember.

Governor Gregoire is in a tough fight here but Obama should win Washington easily and that can only help her and hurt Rossi.

Anecdotally, Rossi has a lot of billboards in Spokane and I have yet to see any Gregoire ones so maybe he can gain some votes on the east side to make up for her sure dominance west of the mountains.

It could happen, if you believe the polls. The latest poll has Chambliss up by just 1 point.

And the Coleman/Franken race in MN is so weird. The polls are all over the place really. +10 for Coleman today, +9 for Franken the next.

I think Dole is pretty much history. I hope this is the case with Chambliss as well. He's a real piece of work.
