He met her once before. The team that was supposed to vet her didn't have time to do its job and only now are they looking thoroughly into her background.

Ultimately, this isn't about Palin. It's about McCain and his ability to make executive decisions. His first major one as the Republican candidate was impulsive, rash, reckless, purely political, and incompetent.

Besides, what was the hurry? He could've waited a day, and given his vetting team a day to do what they got sent up there to do.

I find it extremely irresponsible on the part of McCain. I understand that he couldn't get the guys he wanted and needed to announce her sooner rather than later because she is unknown, but not waiting for his vetting team to do its job? Crazy.

I think McCain is a "gut" guy. No vetting or facts or needed. Contemplation is for sissies. And I think we've seen enough evidence of just how destructive such tendencies can be in a Commander In Chief.

Not quite as bad as I feared, but it still sounds like a mistake from McCain. She was deffinatly looked into, but not as much as she should have been.

I think most of the problem here is that since no one knows about her, all her laundry is coming out at once.
