Post New McCain official: President has "near dictatorial powers"
Michael Goldfarb, formerly of the Weekly Standard, has been named McCain's Deputy Communications Director.

Not only has Goldfard mocked torture victims, he has made the argument that the president should have near "near dictatorial powers" on national security issues.

Pam Hess, the UPI reporter who gave us this extremely moving and persuasive glimpse of the liberal case for the war in Iraq, asked if timetables for withdrawal "somehow infringe on the president's powers as commander in chief?" Mitchell's less than persuasive answer: "Congress is a coequal branch of government...the framers did not want to have one branch in charge of the government." True enough, but they sought an energetic executive with near dictatorial power in pursuing foreign policy and war. So no, the Constitution does not put Congress on an equal footing with the executive in matters of national security.

So he supports a president with the right to torture AND near dictatorial powers. And the liberals are the ones who hate America? I'm guessing this argument is going to change slightly when a Democrat becomes the president.

Could you change the title of the thread so that it isn't so misleading?

So the "I get my facts from the right-wing rag National Review" guy is complaining about misleading titles? What a joke.

There's a character limit to the titles. I tried to make it longer but I couldn't. Besides, by YOUR standard of "fair," I'd say it's more than adequate.
