Agreed. McCain does have huge appeal with Independents though. At the same time, Barack also has massive appeal to Independents. He won 66% of Independents and 70% of Republicans against Hillary tonight in Virginia. That is some serious pull with non-Democratic voters. The recent polls show him being up by as much as 7% nationwide over McCain, and I suspect the longer he's in the public eye, the larger his lead will become until the Republican machine kicks in and digs up some dirt to smear him.

Yeah I would love-LOVE- to see Barack debate McCain. McCain is like a grandfather lecturing while Obama is like a minster pumping people up. McCains speeches are lectures, Obamas are pump ups.

A debate would be so one sided...how could they talk about the war? Their polar opposite, obamas wanted out since 2003, mccains always supported and still does...

what does mccain do to not look like a fool whose out of his league? Obama's way too good of a public speaker for McCains to even try to debate. It would be a joke. Obama would tool on him.

So would Hillary, though the war issue would be a little less of an ass-whipping for McCain. Even so, she would stomp him into the ground because Hillary is simply a great debater...in fact she's probably better than Bill at it.

I made the mistake of playing into the expectations game on the debates in 2000. By the time the debates rolled around, Bush got points simply for not drooling all over himself. So I won't make any predictions.

I will say that having watched CNN switch from Obama's victory to speech to McCain's, McCain never looked so old.

Except Hillary turns off a lot of people because she comes off as a bitch; Obama says it respectfully, almost as if you feel guilty for being against him which wins him a lot of points foir his sincerity.

Yeah. Olbermann on MSNBC hit the nail on the head when he said that the most obvious thing we have learned from this Presidential campaign is that you want to have your speech aired BEFORE Obama's and not after. He's simply one of the best public speakers in history.

True. And McCain has always come across more as a likeable kind of guy too like Obama, so it would almost look like she was bullying him with that style. Because she does come across as a know-it-all bitch. Still though, she is very articulate, very good on her feet at adapting to questions, and obviously very smart.

Funny that Hillary's website now trumpets its number of February donors. Never mind that Barack's site (with a much smaller widget) shows him gaining donors at four times the pace. Last night it was 123,489 to 397,000 (for Jan and Feb); now it's 127,542 to 414,683.

His ability to fund-raise amongst small donors is absolutely incredible. I'm currently in college and I know poor college kids who have donated to his campaign. I am thinking of donating myself even though I really don't have much disposable income at all. But every little bit helps. That's his philosophy and it works phenomenally well.
