I'm referring to the numbers at the bottom of the index page that say how many users have visited the site today. Just the past few days it is giving huge numbers. Like 265 already today, and I naturally wonder if maybe the counter isn't working right, or is counting people twice/three times, or something.

On a related note, even though the numbers per day are huge lately, the record for most users on at one time has not broken.

It resets at 12am, that was 45mins ago for me. Now it is at 55users, at about 11 it was counting 260 or something, theres nothing wrong with the counter. I think the count is high 'cause it count guests etc aswell as registered users.

If people come in multiple times with their login name not signed on ( they log out in a previous session), it probably would be countin gthat person multiple times as a guest.

The "guests" would be what give the high number, but it is dead on with the logged in users. Guests however could theoretically be the same person multiple times.
