Round 2 match-ups are much tougher decisions....! These two are so wildly different. But I might go with Arrival for brilliantly adapting a brilliant short story.... as well as its score, sound design, cinematography, visual aesthetic, Amy Adams, and for being a creative, heart-tugging, memorable original sci-fi. Toy Story 3 on the other hand, while treading in similar thematic waters as its predecessors, has a couple moments toward the end that made me sob.... so beautiful, tender, nostalgic... I don’t know how to vote yet, but leaning towards aliens. |

I went with Toy Story 3 though I still don’t think it should have won last round. |

Arrival gets my vote. Some bitterness for Inside Out, but mainly due to Arrival being terrific. |

Oh no! TS3 pulls ahead 8-7. I’d be curious to see how it would’ve gone with Arrival v. Interstellar; and Toy Story 3 v. Mad Max Fury Road in this round.... (though current match-ups are almost dead evens so can’t complain it’s not interesting) |
