The rich villain role in Now You See Me 2 and The Lost City isn't a bad use of him, though only so many opportunities for it. Maybe would translate as the douchey suitor in a Jane Austen movie or something.

Yeah, exactly. He's just not leading man material.

Can't wait. Now that's how you make a trailer!

I get making some films Disney+ originals, but not a film like this one.

Disenchanted is another that should go to theatres. I've just seen the trailer and it's definitely big screen material, and the first was big. With Pinocchio that's two that would have made good money. Though I'm with them regarding Hocus Pocus 2. That's fine going to Disney+ since the first gained its cult following at home anyway.

I’m from a mobile phone so can’t post the trailer, but I’m shocked that Disenchanted looks so good and theatrical quality. Disney should switch this to theaters and Strange World to streaming.

Agreed. Disenchanted probably had (has) solid theatrical potential. Now, the first one, IMO, disappointed a bit at the box-office, so perhaps that was partly why they went the streaming route here.

Still think Disney dropped the ball big on Hocus Pocus 2. The original has become the quintessential family-friendly Halloween film over the decades, especially in the past five to ten years. It has some strong cross-generational appeal. You can't go in a store these days without seeing Hocus Pocus related merchandise, even outside of the Halloween season. And the first film did very well during its re-release in theaters.

Even if the sequel lacks quality (questionable to me from the trailers), it would have earned a large opening and likely satisfactory run up through Halloween anyway.

I was just at a mall and there was a group of twenty or thirty people (all ages, but more in that 20-40 range, I guess) partaking in some Hocus Pocus art (painting) event in the middle of the mall.

Glass Onion reviews are as good as the first. If it had opened theatrically, it probably would’ve debuted to at least 50m

Surprisingly Disenchanted has far more trailer views than hocus pocus 2.

They both should be the 2 biggest D+ originals to date out of the gate but looks like Disenchanted might win.

Interesting. So if you're into trailer views, here are the current totals (all after 4 days):

Hocus Pocus 2 - 2.9 million
Disenchanted - 6.3 million
The Little Mermaid - 13 million

I'm getting fed up with Margot Robbie.

It all looks pretty good, and I'm sure it will do well as a Bohemian Rhapsody-like musical biopic at Christmas, but there's one thing that I dislike, and it's Naomi Ackie. She has such a smugness about her which was completely not what Whitney Houston was about. Not at all. Whitney smiled and it was a genuine, beautiful smile. An innocence, even vulnerability, and a joy and happiness to be performing and loved by all. Ackie smiles and there's self-congratulatory arrogance behind it. Such a bad casting.

This looks dull. More musicals please Disney!

This should switch releases with Disenchanted and be the one that goes straight to D+ while Disenchanted goes to theaters

Whitney biopic is more interesting if it's about Bobby and the drugs. If it's just her good years that's bland.

Damn, yeah, I agree. I couldn't envisage a more generic CGI kids adventure than Strange World if my life depended on it. Though, I dig the logo's typeface.

Teaser was better, but very excited for this.

That was much better than the teaser and the first movie, in my opinion. Actually makes it look epic. Great trailer.

I agree.

This looks dull and more akin to BO flops like Atlantis and Treasure Planet so doubt this will catch on.

Films like Disenchanted and Hocus would have at least made bank.
