Scream looks bad but I'm not a fan of the original.

Home Alone looks awful as expected

Yeah, that Home Alone will probably be worse than Home Alone 3 and however many came after it (I recall at least one other?). That just looked pure Disney+ original fluff that the platform is likely to be filled to the brim with in a few years.

A remake of Home Alone could, possibly, be popular with good filmmakers and an interesting cast.

That Home Alone trailer OMG! Looks so much worse let the series rest, there have been way too many cheap iterations of the series without much success. Its time to let the classics be a classic. I don't think in this age Home Alone will work as a movie though if they reboot with a different setting and tweak the premise a little it could work.

Great trailer although I think the Nolan films set a high bar to reach

Same thought. They still seem to be running under TDK's shadow instead on trying to be different.

How do you be different though, it’s the same character’s 7th theatrical adaptation. They’ll never go campy again, at this point it’s just different stages of dark and how grounded they go. It’s funny Pattinson is only 1 year younger then Keaton was, but all the mains makes this look like the BatTeens. He looks about as bad as the end of the TV Show Gotham.

Outside of that it looks fine, but Begins looked a lot better. Farrell looks like he’ll be great in his brief role.

This looks fine but also yawn. I'm sure it will be entertaining.

This is a teaser lol, nothing but some visuals. Can't tell the plot at all.

Though I know

Spoiler: show
Wanda is the villain, and the X-Men appear, and several characters from What If? will appear in live action

Another theatrical quality film going straight to streaming for some reaso

A big budget Disney remake of Pinocchio probably would have done really well in theaters. No less than Dumbo, I'd assume, and probably potential for quite a bit more. But oh well!

I get they want Disney+ original content, of course, too. But maybe they could just do Disney+ and theatrical on the same day or something for some of these with higher potential.

Hot take- streaming content should be shows only pretty much, no movies unless they are low quality. like back in the old days

I thought this was going to be a Peacock exclusive, but I think a simultaneous theatrical release is being considered.

The film will be PG, just in case anyone was wondering. It's not some R-rated take on the old TV show.

Why is this not theatrical, it would be enormous!

Post subject:  Re: The New Trailers Thread

While I don't doubt it would do well at the box office, Disney is trying to boost their streaming service. This is exactly the type of fare that adds value to Disney+. This isn't a Top Gun: Maverick situation. The original only made $45m, but went on to become a home video/TV Halloween classic ... so the sequel being exclusive to an in-home streaming service makes total sense as that's where the bulk of the original's fanbase discovered it. It's also hardly a guaranteed box office hit, like an Avatar sequel, lol. There is still some risk considering its more home video-leaning history, so this way Disney boosts their catalogue, gives subscribers fresh content, and hides any potential shortfall.
