Not enough people, imo.

Yeah that's just HUGE to pay the cast itself.

Where's Paul Rudd? Don Cheadle?

It is amazing how Marvel has managed to fill a cast with all the annoying actors alive today.

Some of those were also made famous by the franchise, so a) I'm not caring about them and b) they will not be expensive as I imagine they signed long contracts for relatively cheap because they were not huge stars yet (and I don't think many of them are huge still).

It will be interesting to see how many of them remain in the limelight post-MCU. I'm guessing very few. Anthony Mackie will certainly disappear.

I only care for Benicio Del Toro, Mark Ruffalo, and Chris Pratt.

I really wonder how they're even going to fit all these characters in one film, the film probably has to be +3hr long for that. It surely is a challenge to make this film cohesive I think, will be interesting.

I am intrigued to see how they fit the Guardians of the Galaxy in. Beyond the obvious (we know there will be gags involving Tony Stark seeing Rocket and maybe a few re: Star-Lord reacquainting himself with a changed popular culture [discovering '90s music], etc.), meshing their story with the Iron Man/Captain America/etc. vein would seem to involve a lot of heavy lifting and exposition.

I believe Jeremy Renner will have a solid enough career. Not a HUGE star, but a solid stream of roles.

In response to Algren

The only ones of these actors who weren't famous before Marvel were Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Tom Holland and Anthony Mackie.

Of those, id say Hemsworth is the only one who is pretty much guaranteed a post-Marvel career. Evans has stated repeatedly he wants to be done with acting, Olsen doesn't seem like anything more than a supporting star, Stan will probably go back to TV, Bautista will either go back to wrestling or try to make a career like the Rock, and Tom Holland and Anthony Mackie will probably fade. Though I could see Mackie become another Chadwick Boseman.

And why isn't Black Panther in this?

Olsen will have an indie-movie presence. A Sarah Polley- or Elisabeth Moss- or Charlotte Gainsbourg-type career. She was on this trajectory already with Martha Marcy May Marlene.

Because he's a nobody (and the "W" in WOKJ stands for White). ;)

The most ridiculous thing is that Pom Klementieff is included in the opening post.

It otherwise would have been quite the sausage fest.

What difference does that make? If MCU films are male-dominated, they are male-dominated. They are, after all, adapted from comic-books, which were created decades ago before people were forced to include women and minorities into every single nook and cranny of society.

Yeah, Pom's inclusion there might feel forced because of those reasons. But she might have an expanded role upon her Galaxy 2 role too.
Actually considering how many names they have to put on the poster, I tend to think that's what all the poster will be about, just names only.

Tom Holland is a fine actor, I loved him in The Impossible. I am sure he will have a career after MCU.

Bear in mind that it's always been difficult for child actors to maintain a career when they are adults. I think Holland will also spiral into oblivion. He has essentially peaked as a child, and that's a hard barrier to overcome. People may not want to see him with facial hair and a deep voice, which is exactly what Daniel Radcliffe is going through right now. He's struggling to be a success as an adult.

I think the difference here is that Radcliffe can be great in certain roles but Holland has more range as an actor. Also Holland came to fame at 18 which wasn't exactly the case for Radcliffe. Plus Holland will be in Spider-man series for another 5 years which will be enough for him to enter mainstream acting.

Holland was 15 when he became famous.

Radcliffe was still younger ;)

Sure. But both were children when they became famous. That's the point.
