Post Jay and Silent Bob Reboot

"[...]Last month, I had the time of my life laughing while writing ‘Jay and Silent Bob Reboot’ – a fun flick in which the Jersey boys have to go back to Hollywood to stop a brand new reboot of the old ‘Bluntman & Chronic Movie’ they hated so much. It’s a tongue-in-cheek, silly-ass satire that pokes fun at the movie business’s recent re-do obsession, featuring an all-star cast of cameos and familiar faces!"

I know most are, at best, indifferent to Kevin Smith in 2017, but I'm still a die hard fan of him, especially his Askewniverse flicks. And while I know he's not the big time filmmaker he thought he would be, he's had a pretty good last decade of creating and starring in AMC reality content, making a few ambitious, albeit lackluster movies, and maintaining an entire podcast network.

Of course this also means Clerks III and Mallrats 2 are DOA, which I'm fine with. Clerks II was a risky gamble that paid off, and Mallrats 2 was fun in theory, especially since he had secured the entire original cast. But really, the one film that deserves any sort of sequel is Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. So even though much of the movie world has left Kevin behind, I'm anxious to see if he can still write this type of movie.

I'm sure the reaction here will be largely "Meh" but I'm kind of intrigued at the idea of new Jay and Silent Bob content on film. Considering how often they popped up, their last non-animated appearances were in Clerks II in 2006.

Of course, his weed-clogged brain may not have the ability to write a good movie anymore, but I'll take the risk.

I'm a big Mallrats/J&SB fan. And his recent directorial work on Flash/Supergirl has been pretty darn good.
