 Re: Most anticipated January/February release?
1. A Cure for Wellness 2. God Particle 3. Split 4. John Wick: Chapter 2 5. Underworld: Blood Wars
Honorable mention - T2: Trainspotting. My most anticipated movie of the year. It slays me it comes out in England in January, but not in the U.S. until March.

 Re: Most anticipated January/February release?
Wow for some reason I thought this would be harder, but it's easily John Wick: Chapter 2. I'm also looking forward to Split, Lego Batman, Sleepless, A Cure for Wellness and maybe God Particle depending on a trailer which we have yet to see.

 Re:
No doubt, John Wick 2. And it looks like a pretty enjoyable film watching month, too bad I won't see most until months later.
1. John Wick: Chapter 2 2. Sleepless 3. xXx: Return of Xander Cage 4. The Great Wall 5. The Lego Batman Movie
And I would also check out Fist Fight and Bastards for an attempt to laugh, but don't expect much.

Get Out or God Particle. I'll say the former for now, but that could change once I see a trailer for the latter.

 Re: Most anticipated January/February release?
John Wick 2!!!!!!!
For January I'll probably only see Split. But that's also time for 2016 clean up so no worries.
February is stacked like most months in 2017. Not only Wick, but Lego Batman, Get Out and Cloverfield 3! And that's with Dark Tower bailing too.

I mean, yay that we get to see a film before others but not really looking forward to it. I saw the trailer before Allied. It looks fucking awful.

Damon and Yimou, that alone is enough to get my attention.

 Re: Most anticipated January/February release?
Why? Did you not see the trailer? It looks shite. And Yimou hasn't ever made a good film.

See it. The second I typed my post I knew that would be your reply. There's a reason you only ever talk about it with regards to Yimou's career or Chinese films in general...because it's just not that good, and you'd rather be watching any new Hollywood film. You keep Raise the Red Lantern in your mind as a film for when you need to show some culture to your viewing. But there's no way that I believe you love the film. Maybe it is passable and you didn't hate it, and for a Chinese film that seemed like a win.

 Re: Most anticipated January/February release?
Hehe. Well The Flowers of War is also very good, but that film has less identity. Even if The Great Wall would be more of that I would be more than satisfied. I agree the trailer doesn't make it look very good.
But I do absolutely love Raise the Red Lantern and I generally do prefer to watch any new Hollywood film. Now with Great Wall both of these two things are coming together so it's definitely on high interest for me.
There might be signs it could not be good, but because of Yimou's involvement I keep faith. Some (David) might say he sold out with The Flowers of War, but while I don't think that's a crowing achievement, it's recommendable too.
