http://batman-news.com/2016/12/07/apple ... m-rentals/ While in release? I could see this being an option for families, as it's a hassle to go out and spend $30+ for a family of 3+. I can't see theaters being too happy, and would in turn raise their prices. Something I would never do, as I love the theater too much. |

Shows how much confidence WB has in Justice League. "Maybe you'll like it more if you don't have to leave your couch!" |

Years ago, I remember Universal was going to experiment with this type of release with Tower Heist. I am not sure they did in the end, though. I do recall the final Paranormal Activity played in around half as many theatres as the others simply because Paramount shortened the theatrical-release-to-on-demand window. I am no expert, but I feel exhibitors hold too much sway for this to come to pass, particularly with a film as enormous as Justice League. |

Yeah, they were planning on doing it but never did. Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension and Scout's Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse had shortened windows in theaters which pissed distributors off. I think the only chain that was willing to show them was AMC. |

Well if you read the original article: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles ... ie-rentals It never mentions Justice League. The site I sourced just used that film as an example. |

True, although you can't blame me when Batman News uses such a misleading headline (maybe) Apple in talks with Warner Bros. to let you rent ‘Justice League’ at home while it’s in theaters |

Oh, I know. I should've just linked to the actual article. |

There are things like OMG free TV now that you spend $100 one time fee for a box and it streams movies a week old, every tv show, every sports program, and even netflix originals. Pretty good HD quality too. It's legal right now as you are allowed to stream and you aren't downloading anything. The only ones in trouble would be the ones streaming it. This could be crippling especially with the copyright loophole. |
