Turns out the director of Shaun of the Dead has got pretty darn good taste in movies!

I am pleased to see he appreciates Hong Kong cinema. But there really are no huge surprises. All fairly safe respected films that you would expect a modern director to appreciate.

Ones I am glad to see on his list: Death Race 2000, Bananas, Dirty Harry, Magnum Force, The Good The Bad and the Ugly, Zulu, The Great Escape, North By Northwest, The Ladykillers, Rear Window, Rope, Supervixens, Assault on Precinct 13, Halloween, Mad Max 2, Risky Business, The Terminator, Wheels on Meals, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, Midnight Run, The Killer, Violent Cop, Cape Fear (1991), Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Hard Boiled, Police Story 3: Supercop, Desperado, Speed, Heat, The Quick and the Dead, Scream, Three Kings, Ocean's Eleven, Infernal Affairs, Ong-Bak, Collateral, The Bourne Supremacy, The Incredibles, A History of Violence, Sin City, Apocalypto, Compliance, Skyfall, Blue Ruin, Prisoners, Edge of Tomorrow, Interstellar, Force Majeure, John Wick, Nightcrawler, Whiplash, Ex Machina, Sicario, The Gift, and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.

Ones I am not glad to see on his list: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Midnight Cowboy, Psycho, Love and Death, Star Wars, Alien, The Empire Strikes Back, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, Domino, Man on Fire, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Children of Men, and There Will Be Blood.

One that I am not glad didn't make his list: First Blood, Predator, True Lies, Cliffhanger, Cop Land, and Rocky IV.
