Several of the sequels have been announced/implied over the recent years. Which of those do you think will actually materialize (and I am not talking reboots/remakes) eventualy and which do you think will join True Lies in the will-never-happen-development-hell? Here's a list to ponder: The Bourne Legacy sequel (with Jeremy Renner) Prometheus 2 The Girl Who Played with Fire The Legend of Conan Triplets American Pie 5 Indiana Jones 5 Ted 2 Snow White and the Huntsman 2 Men in Black 4 Bill & Ted 3 Hancock 2 National Treasure 3 Bad Boys 3 Rush Hour 4 District 9 Sequel Sherlock Holmes 3 The Karate Kid 2 The Fighter 2 Underworld 5 Wanted 2 Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy sequel Yeah, a long list to ponder. ia m convinced that about one-third of these won't ever happen. But all have been announced or talked about at some stage. What do you think? |

My take: The Bourne Legacy sequel - if Matt Damon isn't coming back in any way, this won't happen. Renner is busy enough and Universal is actually doing pretty damn well without Bourne right now. I really doubt that a sequel featuring just Renner would make more than $100-110 million and I doubt Universal will want to invest in that. Prometheus 2 - This will keep popping up in discussions with Ridley Scott and will turn into another Alien 5 or The Girl Who Played with Fire. Lots of talk, nothing happening. The Girl Who Played with Fire - see above The Legend of Conan - Yeah, I believe this will probably happen, though maybe the studio will want to wait for Terminator 5's performance? On the other hand, Arnie will be too damn old by then....still, have a feeling this will happen. Triplets - This, on the other hand, won't. WIll be another Beverly Hills Cop 4. American Pie 5 - Given the overseas success, they'd be smart to make the film, but as I said before, Universal has got a lot on their plate now and they don#t really need this, so I doubt it. Indiana Jones 5 - Won't happen. Just won't. Ted 2 - I expect it to hit in 2015. Snow White and the Huntsman 2 - This will probably go into second round. I assume it'll be ouit by 2015 as well, but it will not perform all too well. Men in Black 4 - Doubt it. Will Smith isn't interested and they won't do it without him. Bill & Ted 3 - This is shaping up pretty well, so I think it'll happen. Hancock 2 - Nah National Treasure 3 - Shocked it hasn't happened yet. But I still firmly believe it will, expectv it by 2016 (which will be WAAAAAYYY too late) Bad Boys 3 - That, I still believe, will happen. Maybe around 2016 as well. Rush Hour 4 - Not certain about this, but I am tending towards yes. District 9 Sequel - Nah...that ship kinda has sailed. Sherlock Holmes 3 - I see it out by 2015 or 2016. It will be the last one, though. The Karate Kid 2 - The ship is about to sail too. I don't knwo why there shouldn't be one, but if there isn't one shooting by the end of this year, it won't happen at all. The Fighter 2 - It has been talked about after the first one, but I beloieve this will go the way of The Departed 2. Underworld 5 - Pretty sure this will happen. Would be silly if not. I expect it to hit by 2015/2016. Wanted 2 - Another one, that won't happen. Not without Jolie and she won't be in it. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy sequel - actually believe this will happen some time down the road. |

Ted 2 not happening would be ridiculpus, but on the otheer hand, Wedding Crashers 2 has never been made. But, yes, it is the mst likely of the films above to be made. Snow White and the Huntsman 2 is second in likelihood to happen. |

I do not expect Prometheus 2 to happen, as much as I would love it to. I do hope we see a third Sherlock Holmes and another Bourne with Renner. |

IMO, Prometheus 2 is more likely to happen than another Bourne with Renner (and without Damon). Given the worldwide performance of the second film, it'd be silly not to make Sherlock Holmes 3, but I have a feeling that RDJ is less and less interested in his franchises. |

Surely the point is to make tons of money, and with ease. See The Hangover Part 2 and The Hangover Part 3. Repeating the same shit, but with Owen Wilson being the nice guy and Vaughn continuing to be the wedding crasher. Could have worked. Vaughn could have crashed Wilson's own wedding etc. These sort of comedy films don't need too complex of a story. There are many ways to take it. |

Personally speaking, the one of those sequels I'd be interested in most, is also the one that is least likely to happen - The Girl Who Played with Fire. |
