I just wondered if they were because you never seem to hear about it anymore. I'd imagine that the road, or walkpath, is only so big, so have they run out of space?

Who was the last person to be added?

I can't ever imagine Channing Tatum or people like that going on there. It would totally devalue the entire path and legacy.

This picture made me think of it:

Yes. Javier Bardem was recently given a star. Hugh Jackman is next.

Those are proper stars. Good to know it's not being littered with Z-list..yet.

I remember checking the stars on the walk out and im pretty sure there were some you would consider Z listers.

Do you remember Michael Jackson? No, the radio host. He's got one.

He may be big in radio, but I've never heard of him. I'm sure there's loads I've never heard of. I just hope that the current wave of talentless Z-listers don't start to appear on the walk.

Because that would really continue a tradition.

There are still a ton of empty spaces.

Depends on what you consider z listers for instance the Harry Potter stars and the actors who played C-3PO, R2, and Darth Vader have stars and they are z listers but they got them because of the popularity of those two franchises. Still, I am sure there are some questionable celebrities with stars there.

Ryan Seacreast the host of American Idol and several other things. He thinks he is the next Dick Clark.

How did he get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame?? He's a TV man...I thought Hollywood meant movies only.

Nope. The stars represent movie, television, and radio (are there any others?). The medallion in the middle of each star has a symbol that represents what category the person is in. The most common is movies, which is a camera; the television symbol is TV; and... I can't quite recall what radio is. Maybe a mic?

Anyone can get a star if they fill the category requirements (must be in the business a certain amount of years and have made a significant amount of work within those years) and put together enough money. Back in the early nineties, Dean Stockwell got his star because tons of fans got together and recycled to earn the money for it. He's really big on environmental issues, so it was a very special, specific way for the fans to give him an honor that he really quite deserved.

On a different note, I actually have a picture of the Harrison Ford star, 'cause I didn't realize until doing research later, that the star was actually for a silent film actor named Harrison Ford. The above mention of the Michael "not MJ" Jackson reminded me of it.

So there are two identical stars (with logo too) named Harrison Ford. Lol. Great.

You pay for it. I think it's like 10 grand or so.

Yeah, I've since learned that in the last 5 years since I created this thread, but you've still got to be approved - not everyone gets it. But it's not $10k. Much more.
