I enjoy the prequels, AOTC is the weakest of the 3, still, they are knowhere near OT levels.

Maybe one day I'll change, but for now I am how I am. The Dark Shape seems to really like arguing with me about anything he can.

Re: Are the prequels not as hated as some think?
The prequels are similar to Hook. Adults hated it when it came out, kids loved it. Now that those kids are older, Hook is being touted as underrated. A similar thing will happen with the prequels.

Phantom Menace is justly hated - however Attack of the Clones & Revenge of the Sith are great movies and fine Star Wars entries. zwackerm wrote: I'm not wrong I just have vastly different opinions than you. Ahh bradley. Nobody gives a shit about what you say/think. Never have. You've always been a parody of yourself.

Re: Are the prequels not as hated as some think?
If the prequels existed all by themselves, they would be an ok franchise.
But the reason I can't stand them is that they change the plots for the original trilogy and ruin them.
If you watch the films in order now, you already know who Darth Vader is, and so there is no surprise when he says "Luke I am your father." And don't get me started on midi-chlorins or whatever they're called; if it's in your body, why can't I just do a blood transfer and let everyone have the Force? And why doesn't C3PO tell Luke who his father is? Also -- there is a universe with trillions of souls in it, tell someone else's story (which is why I am anxious to see Rogue One, which is what Lucas should have done instead of the prequels using some of the same characters).
If you're ever showing these films to a kid who has never seen them, do NOT start with episode one. Chances are the kid will say "What's the big deal over Star Wars? This isn't much different from tons of other space movies these days." And then he will hate you when he sees 4, 5, and 6.

Only a crazy old guy would watch them in order of 1-2-3-4-5-6.

Was watching Sith and it still holds up ok. But gosh everyone is so damn wooden. I get why Lucas would want the Jedi to come off like that, but everyone in the galaxy?

Re: Are the prequels not as hated as some think?
And the reason I didn't include 7 was because it's trilogy wasn't complete and however 8 and 9 play out may change when 7 should be watched.

Kids like it. Most adults hate it. I watched TPM 6x. AOTC maybe 4x. ROTS maybe 3x. I cannot sit through TPM beginning to end if it's on tv. If I stick in the blu ray then I will but if I'm just browsing like how it's been on TBS or one of those cables recently. I can't. I just can't.

The only reason people split up the OT, is because of the prequels. Now, with RO that order will have to be altered, but you're not going to watch 4-5-6 out of order, and 7 will always be after 6, and before 8-9.

I kinda enjoyed TPM the first time I saw it just based on the novelty of getting to see a new SW movie. I never liked AOTC nor had any desire to revisit it again after my initial viewing -- once was enough. I liked ROTS more than the first two when I saw it in theaters, but it REALLY does not hold up.

Do I seriously need to explain that? If you have a higher white cell count than someone else, simply taking your blood won't increase their count. Groucho wrote: And why doesn't C3PO tell Luke who his father is? Because his memory wiped, as evidenced by such subtle lines as "Have the protocol droid's mind wiped."

ROTS is really good TPM is a overall good AOTC is the only just ok film (But does have super highs, but the lows make it easily the worst of the saga)
