Yep, a true, proud, don't-give-a-fuck, walking contradiction.

Will Forte Says He’s Locking Himself in a Room on June 10th to Write MACGRUBER 2http://collider.com/macgruber-2-will-fo ... ly&_r=trueI'm not sure the studio would ever fully fund this movie. They should use Kickstarter to get it partially funded. I'd contribute.

In this interview from yesterday, Will Forte explains how he has managed to fill his time working on a little side project called Nebraska with some director called Alex Payne, but confirms that work is still progressing (slowly) on the his true life's work, the MacGruber sequel!

http://hollywoodlife.com/2015/02/27/mac ... ew-sequel/Why do I not believe this? Surely if it had filmed we would have heard about it. And if it did happen I doubt Kristen Wiig will have returned, which is a huge bummer. She was so funny in the first. I do hope we'll get one though.

Re: MacGruber 2 in the works?
How does this makes sense? It's bad, not only I think so and it didn't win any peaches at the box office, which pretty much denominates sequel-worthiness. Simply have no idea why another MacGruber is even considered.

Re: MacGruber 2 in the works?
It is the classic circumstances of a cult set of fans talking very loudly about their desire for a sequel and the filmmakers not having anything better to do and believing the interest is shared and widespread. It is why that Judge Dredd movie from a few years ago got made, but (so far) they haven't been dumb enough to make another one.

Re: MacGruber 2 in the works?
Alright. But Dredd was kind of made for a whole new audience again. MacGruber 2 is kind of like the case of Zoolander 2 it seems, but even that was released 10 years later which was way too late anyway. MG2 is going to lose money again I think, ah, let them.

It was made, yet again, for the vocal 2000AD fans that just never shut up about how bad the 1995 film was. And it is proven by how many people actually cared when it came out. The production company that greenlit it misjudged how many people ACTUALLY were interested, just like they're doing with MacGruber 2.

But I do love failures like these. Interesting to write about.

Re: MacGruber 2 in the works?
Except it's unlikely this would be a wide theatrical release. I think Netflix should spend the 10 Million to make it and release it on there. It's certainly cheap enough to make. And the first does have its fans. It would never do well in theaters though. And I'm sure everyone knows that. Not with how much it would cost to market it. Otherwise they could do those limited fan screenings. Those always seem to attract the interested parties. Even the Rob Zombie "31" ones were selling out. Then after those screenings release it on demand and soon after DVD/Blu-ray. They'd really have nothing to lose doing it any of these ways.

Re: MacGruber 2 in the works?
There is a new MacGyver reboot series starting this Fall, so why not strike while the iron is hot?
