I am not complaining. He is a sound choice. It just feels unusual. Nah, that would be Nolan stepping down in scope. Re: JJ Abrams to Direct Star Wars VII Abrams said he didn't want to do it because he was doing Star Trek. Anyway, this is not important to me because I care extremely little for Star Wars, Star Trek and any other Star movie.

Re: JJ Abrams to Direct Star Wars VII Its good news in a way but also doesnt sit right with me. I'm a big fan of Abrams - from Felicity to Cloverfield to Trek. However, the fact that he is doing both Trek and Wars just feels odd.

Re: JJ Abrams to Direct Star Wars VII I think Disney offered him a lot of control and money to direct Star Wars. I don't Paramount could match that mainly because he is a bigger star wars fan than star trek.

Oh and Chris Evans only did Marvel films I think. yeah but he still jumped within Marvel. Which I guess is not as weird to most. Actually, if you want to get technical, he did jump from Marvel to DC and back once you figure in The Losers, which was based on a DC property. But The Losers was such an inconsequential blip on the radar that it seems silly to count it. Honestly, Bryan Singer dumping X-Men for Superman Returns was the first thing I thought of when I heard the news about Abrams. Hopefully - for his sake and the film's sake at the box office - it doesn't turn out the same way it did for Singer.

Apparently him and Abrams are good friends, He chose to do Regarding Henry which was Abrams first full screenplay. Then again, it's not like he isn't pals with best pals with Kathleen Kennedy or Lucas.
I hope they reveal a basic plot line soon.

He also clarified that Kasdan and Kinberg are both working with director J.J. Abrams on Star Wars: Episode VII, which is being written by Toy Story 3‘s Michael Arndt.
According to Iger’s roadmap for the franchise, the sequel trilogy will run for six years starting in 2015, with a new movie hitting theaters every three years. The spin-offs would be released in between — a rough approximation of the Disney-Marvel Avengers mega-franchise.
Since he declined to name which characters could be getting the spin-off treatment, this news allows us to indulge in a flagrant bit of rumormongering. Kasdan co-wrote Empire Strikes Back, which introduced fan-favorite character Boba Fett, so perhaps he’s working on a bounty hunter movie. Kinberg wrote various X-Men movies, so perhaps he’s writing about a team, like say… a Rogue Squadron spin-off. Both of those theories are probably false, but we encourage you to spread them around the Internet, just in case.
