The only way this could've worked is if the fourth film never existed and they rebooted in 1992 (though that also would've been dumb because though far from his peak, Stallone was still a name). Rambo can't be turned into a Bond like character. Rambo and Stallone go hand-in-hand. Granted, you could say the same thing about Bond and Connery in 1969, but the series got over that with a good film. And unlike Lazenby and Moore, the new Rambo would have to deal with a 30+ year history with Stallone.
This is never getting made. And if it does, Rambo will only become another Transporter or just some dumb single-digit million-dollar-making character.

Re: Rambo Reboot WITHOUT Stallone If they're going to do this they should set it in the Vietnam days or something. Not that I have any interest in that story, but it would at least justify recasting with a younger actor.
