 Remember the movie The Interview?
Apologies. Random thread. But it occurred to me tonight how enormously forgettable The Interview is relative to the controversy and industry upheaval it inspired. It never seems to have found much of a second life in terms of cable showings or being quoted or at all gestured toward on social media or in pop culture in general. Has anyone watched it since December 2014? Do you remember it fondly? Do you remember anything specific from it?

I think it's because it wasn't that shocking. Just, pre-release, the thought of it (twinned with the controversy) was shocking, but it didn't live up to expectations. It turned out to be quite a forgettable Rogen comedy.

It was such a bizarre release. Had they decided last minute to let it get a wide release and not go digital so soon it would've opened really, really big.
I do remember the whole Firework gag, which I thought was funny.

Re: Remember the movie The Interview?
The predominantly online release also meant relatively few people watched it with a crowd, which tends to help comedies, particularly the type Rogen specializes in.

It has some funny gags, with that being the best one. Otherwise it's indeed mediocre. Deflating mainly I guess. Overall I remember it quite well though, watched it about one and half times. I surely anticipated watching it because of the hyptroversy.

It was decent but forgettable. One viewing was enough.

I actually don't remember it. I do know there was a tank in the end. That's all.
