Watching Anna Karina's soap commercial conjures up butterflies into my stomach.

If he died in 1970, he'd be the finest film director of all time.

As it is, he's a cranky, typical French bastard who gets angry at directors that still make relevant films because they might make stuff that pleases broad audiences. You know, just like Franz Liszt or Shakespeare, after all, they only appealed to the blowhards of their day, right?

Notre Musique, In Praise Of Love, Aria, Tout Va Bien. The latter one is fairly good, but the rest? Zzz.

watch Prenom Carmen and Nouvelle Vague. i'd argue both these films are better than anything from 60's. if we forget Weekend of course. Sauve qui peut and Passion are incredible too.

his next stars Alain Badiou and Patti Smith. called Socialisme. you can watch the trailer on youtube.

Histoire(s) du Cinema > Notre Musqiue > Sauve qui peut (la vie) > Eloge de l'amour > Prenom Carmen > Passion > Nouvelle Vague
etc.
