[Director Christophe] Honoré has proven you can make a movie musical in which style doesn’t upstage content -- a movie musical that blossoms from the inside out.
-- David Edelstein, New York Magazine

Evoke[s] another era of cinema, so that moviegoers with long memories may have the nicer ride.
-- Doris Toumarkine, Film Journal International

The love affairs of the film's characters aren't merely expressions of fluid sexual desire but an acknowledgement of the interconnectedness of human life.
-- Ed Gonzalez, Slant Magazine

Are the characters completely believable? No. Are the feelings the characters talk and sing about pinpointed with a precision that seems to have become a Honoré trademark? Very much so.
-- Boyd van Hoeij, european-films.net

Looks GREAT! I want to see this one really badly, but obviously I'll be waiting for DVD because movies like this don't play here. So far it is 100% Fresh at Rotten Tomatoes.

100% queer-bait. Attractive homosexuals, angst, Paris and random sing-a-longs.

That said, I'm furious it didn't make a stop around here.

Crap.

It was playing at Shattuck, which is a ten minute walk from my studio. Who the hell has heard of a one week run? Uprooted by Hulk, it looks like.

Opera Plaza isn't that far. It's a five minute walk from the BART.
