Hoe could they? It's literally one of the best performances ever?

Great choices from the oscars. Nailed both acting awards and Oppenheimer is the best winner since Return of the King.

I'm glad they made the right pick with Stone

The Pacino thing would've worked better if they announced the nominees first

I feel Ryan Gosling is a shoe in for his next big awards bait movie. He's gotten so much goodwill from the past year and if not a life time achievement award for RDJ feels like he would have taken it. That live performance also will be remembered for a long time. He definitely will be on that stage as a winner one of these years.

Even if Stone was great, she's going to get a lot of chances over her career and already has 2 by 35. Based on Hollywood's history, I really hope Lily can have a career and other awards chances but seems like this was the best chance.

Gladstone was not the lead of Flower Moon. Had she been nominated for Best Supporting, she could have won it. Stone definitely deserved it here and she will be in contention for many more movies as well.

Congrats to Nolan and entire Oppenheimer cast/crew. At last he has the win. I wonder where he will go next after this.

Gladstone isn't even the second most important character in the movie despite being the undisputed lead character for most of the book. Probably would have won supporting, but I get that Killers felt they needed to have her as lead to push their narrative for the other categories.

The win makes sense as both a celebration of his career and Oppenheimer's incredible supporting cast as a whole. The winds could have blown towards Emily Blunt for the same reasons but I suspect most voters figure she will be back while RDJ may not be.

4% increase in Oscar viewership despite the Barbenheimer phenom. They may want to go with Mulaney. They had two $300M+ films make up a huge part of the show.

I wonder how much the 4pm/7pm start time and daylight savings threw people off. Now that they know they can bring the show under time it'd be kind of dumb if they didn't bump the start back to 8pm. Did they really need to give Abbott Elementary a post Oscar bump? People still don't know about that show?

It also seems dumb that ABC refuses to stream the Oscars anywhere.

They did Stream it on their App, but that still requires cable access. Yeah with younger audiences, if you don’t have a stream option, people just won’t watch, and Gen X who might have cable is stuck in the Trump cult

Really glad to see Emma Stone a two-time Oscar winner.

Especially glad for that Oppenheimer love. Some long overdue winners in the mix. It's wild to me that Nolan is winning only his first Best Director Oscar after being nominated JUST ONCE before.
