Outside of Minari I'm really unsure about the international category so I didn't predict it.

This might be a mistake but I'm not predicting Rashida Jones for On The Rocks because I had to make room for Rosamund Pike. That is mostly because of her nomination for A Private War. I don't think anyone saw that coming. They clearly love her and she's getting raves for I Care A Lot. I just really feel like she'll happen. Might not be the safest of bets but I'll feel stupid for not predicting her and having her end up getting in. I have expected her to get nominated all along.

I am predicting Anya Taylor-Joy for Emma almost entirely because of The Queen's Gambit. I know she got really good reviews for the film and it was overall really well-received, but I still don't think she would have made the cut if it weren't for the insane popularity of The Queen's Gambit.

I wish Hamilton would be shut out completely. I hate that it's likely taking up a spot in Comedy/Musical. And that it might get two acting nominations. It's a filmed play. Not a real movie. So glad the Oscars made it ineligible.

I'm only predicting Promising Young Woman in Actress and Screenplay but desperately hope it surprises. A Picture and Director nomination would make my week. I don't really want to get my hopes up though.

I would love to see Happiest Season nominated. That would be one of my favorite comedies this year. But nobody really cares/thinks about Christmas movies after Christmas.

Ugh please happen. I just don't think it will. But if it wants to kick Mank or Ma Rainey out of Picture (Drama) that would be fine by me. Almost wish the studio submitting it for the comedy category would have panned out. It is certainly more of a drama but it could have easily won in Comedy. Both Actress and film. It would have been a bit of category fraud in a way. It certainly has its fair share of humor but it gets really dark and overall it's not a comedy.

I think Carey is winning Actress. They clearly loved the film. And if she wins it here she's winning the Oscar, IMO. Her and Frances are basically tied for critic's group awards but I don't think they'll want to award Frances yet again so soon after her last win.

YES!!! 4 nominations is great. Compared to McDormand's turn in PMY, Mulligan's turn is more emotional, relevant and timely plus more challenging. I do think Carey will take home the trophy. The best picture Drama Nomination is a clear sign that Globes loved PMY.

These were kind of a disaster. I honestly thought Andra Day was barely nominated and she won? Is there any person on the planet that predicted Jodie Foster? WTF?

Very sad Promising Young Woman didn't get anything. Carey losing was the biggest disappointment. I still think there's no chance of Andra winning the Oscar and do still believe Carey will get that. But no wins tonight does put a damper on the momentum.

I've known Nomadland would win the Oscars for Picture and Director all along but kind of didn't think the Globes would go for it. I'll definitely take that winning over Trial of the Chicago 7.

Indeed who the hell voted from Andra Day? Maybe they just wanted to give the award to a black person.

With the controversy about no black members that did cross my mind. But then I'm surprised they wouldn't give it to Viola. Like I'm sure Andra is great and she seems lovely but it's so hard to imagine this group of around 90 people really giving her the most votes when they nominated PYW for friggin' Director and Picture for crying out loud. They obviously loved it. The only person I realistically could have seen taking it away from Carey would have been Frances or in third Viola. Those would have been believable.

Same thing. If not my first there were other three strong contenders to choose from. Andra Day was possibly the worst choice they could have made here.

Remember that Bohemiam Rhapsody won Best Drama. They LOVE musical biopics.
