The Phantom of the Underworld will be nominated in every single oscar category and win it all. Yes that would also include categories like Documentary, short movie etc. This movie is that good

I just have this really weird feeling that it will be. It might be that bit fo sickness I still have to recover from; either that, or Fortune herself is telling me something in advance!

SM 2 would be cool.

No, it's insane. It won no award so far and the last german win is too close...

That I doubt it will get one, doesn't mean I don't want it. I even put it in in my nominee predictions against better knowledge

I actually think it will get a nom considering the lack of great competitions. All other acclaimed foreign movies with the exception of House of Flying Daggers and The Sea Inside are not eligible (The Motorcycle Diaries, A Very Long Engagement, Bad Education and Maria Full of Grace)

Yeah, but they love to nominate movies from "obscure" countries a lot to show how cosmopolitan they are...

Yes, but sometimes certain movies are too good to be overseen.

I can't believe the awful release date for In Good Company  (in terms of awards)

It could have ended up with a couple of nods had it been released earlier in the year. Maybe it can still get a screenplay nomination a la About a Boy.

If an idiot insults me, so will I. I wasn't even replying to this dolt when he insulted me.

His insult might have been ucalled for as well, but at least it was a humorous manner while yours just seemed overly agressive.

Dr. L:

This jerkoff in another thread he created, was making fun of Star Wars. That didn't bother me if he makes fun of something I like. In fact I could not care less about this moron's opinion.

But I will not stand by when a phony tries to insult me personally. I have never insulted anybody without provocation. I deal with people ranging from City fathers, big businessmen, industrialists to unenducated construction workers. I can always spot a phony. They are the ones who are trying to show off their false manners like this ahole.

I understand it is tongue-in-cheek, but you can also see his duplicity.

C'mon, if there is anything the thread makes fun of then that is the everlasting fights between LOTR & SW. I don't see any negativity towards Star Wars in there, it is just a funny bit that takes shots at the whole LOTR vs. SW thing without bashing either of them ;)

I agree  I didn't get upset with that. I can take ribbing about things I like or myself. But personal insults are off limits and will be dealt with a very harsh response.

BTW, I was doing the same (ribbing) with the Phantom in this thread, (a play that I admit disgusts me to no avail after blowing $85 on this garbage, when I was a student). First of all, the title of the thread says everything about my original post in this thread.

The Aviator will lead in nominations and fail to win a single award.

Fahrenheit 9/11 will win Best Picture.
