 Re: SAG Nominations
Biggest surprises are Sandler getting in obviously and Williams missing. She may still get an Oscar nom, but this confirms the only threat to Yeoh is the Academy wanting to give Blanchett a third Oscar.

 Re: SAG Nominations
I think Women Talking and Babylon are going to take spots 9 and 10 in Best Picture now with the ensemble noms

 Re: SAG Nominations
Damn I still thought Michelle had a chance to win as of last night.
I think Top Gun is more of the Mad Max of this year and Cruise is Theron.
Not sure why Labelle has had such hard time getting traction with relatively open 5th spot in Actor

TGM really deserves more love here. Most of these actors still have jobs for the next few years since Tom Cruise saved the industry!

 Re: SAG Nominations
Very cool to see Stephanie Hsu get in. Hope she gets the Oscar nom.
So Actor winner seems in the air...? Or idk. Doesn't seem like Butler is a sure thing with Farrell and Fraser. All great performances though

 Re: SAG Nominations
The closeted scientologist is fuming somewhere
But if we're being honest he really should've won an Oscar already. He's basically the biggest Hollywood movie star of all-time at this point.

Will they give it to Austin now that Lisa Marie is dead?

This was such an entertaining award show.
I think Angela Bassett is still winning the Oscar but ecstatic with EEAAO's dominance.

Although these probably won't 4/4 match Oscars but imagine A24 winning all the big 6 awards... wow

 Re: SAG Nominations
I think Fraser is the only Sag winner that loses. Think Butler will still get it. Poor Colin Farrell officially out of it now

 Re: SAG Nominations
Speeches matter and JLC and Fraser had really good ones.
Curtis has been making movies for so long though and this looks like this will be her best shot of her career so they might do it to celebrate her overall.

 Re: SAG Nominations
I'm gonna predict against Bassett, she lost to Condon at BAFTA and lost at screen actors guild which has been great to black actors, they also once gave Black Panther best ensemble.
Best Actor and Actress are truly toss up but you'd think EEAAO wins one of them - Butler, Blanchett, JLC

 Re: SAG Nominations
I know it's a stretch but I could see Ant Man not helping any matters either though it will be a "minor" factor. Eddie Murphy famously went from frontrunner to losing the Oscar for Dreamgirls when Norbit was released which didn't do him any favors as voting was taking place. https://ca.news.yahoo.com/eddie-murphy- ... 45582.htmlBassett's nom was seen as groundbreaking for comic book movies but Ant Man's lukewarm reception doesn't exactly add to the "let's award a comic movie" narrative. It wasn't a big driver before but doesn't help to paint MCU as worth rewarding right now. JLC on the other hand is so supportive of Michelle and the cast that it's making her look better. She is doing everything right and coming across well in her appearances.

Jamie Lee winning would be a joke. She gives a good performance but... lol all the other nominees gave much better performances. If she wins and Michelle Yeoh loses...
